If TJ Watt is the biggest problem currently, this defense has no chance whatsoever. This Defense goes as far as TJ Watt can take them. Without him playing at a high level?!

All TJ needs to do is start doing this and they will stop triple teaming him on the outside. He can't just run the arc on the outside everytime:

The problem though is the organization. They had a chance to trade him for a huge amount of picks and instead they paid him stupid money.

One player on D is not going to change the outcome of that many games to justify that paper.

Look at Garrett. Dude has one playoff win that was against us because our team sucked and gave them 5 turnovers and a TD.

and truth be told.. Watt is 30. He is on the downside of his career.

 

It would never happen but the Steelers should hold back pay checks and pay based on performance. So who should have got paid against the Sea Chickens. Bos,Warren and maybe Black and last but certainly not least Ramsey. Perhaps Waitman

 

The new contract was a mistake. Edge rushers do not age well and Watt has had quite a few injuries, including the ones that had him looking like a shell of his usual self at the end of last season.

That said, comparing the deal to Watson's is ludicrous. It isn't even close for a wide variety of reasons. Educate yourself before you post next time. Thank you.

 

To be fair, we have no idea what the Steelers could have gotten in trade for Watt, so it doesn't make sense to include that assumption in the argument.

 

I am not sure the first statement supports the second (or vice versa).

 

Hard to get sacks when you cant stop the run or make the QB hold the ball. This isnt really a TJ problem, its more of a total Defense problem all the way to the D coordinator.

You couldn’t give me a free ticket to go to a Bengals home 8 pm game against the Steelers. It didn’t use to be that way but after they got a small taste of success their ignorance has gone through the roof. Quite a few other teams I wouldn’t attend a late game to as well. Philthy and Rats games are out altogether.
