Nussmeier was already the best QB for me heading into 2025. This week was nothing more than further confirmation. That said, still way too early to decide who truly is number one as a whole.

Garrett though currently has a commanding lead. Let us see if he can continue to do so.

As far as week one for the Steelers QB options, of the four, LaNorris looked the best of the four. Drew would be the best one that would be within Pittsburgh's striking distance. I don't see either LaNorris or Garrett reaching Pittsburgh if the season ended today.

Of course, the CFB is a long season. Plenty of time for others to state their case. I still very much believe in Fernando Mendoza V and Sam Leavitt. John Mateer from Oklahoma is a dark horse candidate I will be watching.

Wild card scenario for me is Taylen Green though Taylen would have to tear the SEC and the NCAA Record Books a new one for that to happen. He has a lot of work to do though six touchdowns is not a bad start at all.

Jayden Maiava from USC is definitley someone worth a look. Not at the current time though. GA Southern is USCs next opponent and USC wont have a quality opponent until Illinois unless both Purdue and/or Michigan State can pull of the upset.

October 18th is where I would expect Steelers scouts to be in attendence as USC takes on their hated rival in Notre Dame. If Jayden is playing at a very high level by then?! Notre Dame would be one helluva test.

I'm just Saying the OSU QB is going to be very good. Watch him, Leavitt, and Allar I will. The LSU boy has an arm. Sellers has many skills. And Mateer is one I have been told to watch.

Julian Sayin will be very good. Just not for what Pittsburgh needs.

I do agree with Leavitt though. Playmaker to go along with a quality arm.

Great movie, wrong pick. You see what Troy did to Clemson today??? Clemson is not that good. I will give my vote on Nussmeier when I see him play the SEC this year. I still believe this is Kelly's last year at LSU

Make that 11 tds for Taylen Green , and he hasn't even played a whole game all the way through yet.

    Just saw the stat line.

Green is doing some work. His big test though is coming up against Ole Miss. Should he perform at that same high level against an SEC foe?!

Green is gonna be talked about quite a bit.

John Mateer. I saw him for the 1st time vs Michigan. Wow. IMO, he is going in round one. For starters he has a really good arm. He is super strong and can move well. I don't know about his QB's smarts yet, but personality wise, he is a winner.

Watch him rise to the top of the 2026 list for qb's.

I am i also interested in Mendoza for Indiana, He is being coached
by a Western Pa native that all he does is win.

You gotta look at him like he's Jalen Hurts. Similar build. Fast, strong, he's quite elusive as a runner... big arm too. Plenty to work on of course, but I like him a lot still.

Assuming Manning is returning to school, I think Nussmeier, Sellers, Allar, and Mateer are the top 4. Klubnik hasn't looked great so far but still can turn it around, and Carson Beck can make a statement too. Leavitt is another to watch. Haven't seen Mendoza yet, so I can take a look at him soon as well.
