Now that we've taken Jones (which I'm a big fan of), the draft shapes up a little differently as I don't believe OLB should be back in play. Here is my mock for the Friday-Saturday rounds. Let me know what you guys think:

    2. Arthur Brown, ILB, Kansas St. - If he is there, we have to take him. Guy is a beast and will be starting over Foote in 2014. Like we did in 2006, LB-LB with the first two picks
    3. Aaron Dobson, WR, Marshall - We start addressing offense with this pick. Good route runner and physical. I'd be happy with Ryan Swope or Steadman Bailey in this position as well.
    4. JJ Wilcox, S, Georgia Southern - I don't think Troy or Clark's replacement is on the roster so S must be addressed at least once in this draft. Big hitter who plays well against the run.
    5. Stepfan Taylor, RB, Stanford - Great value in round 5. Runs north and south, good pass protector
6a. Mallciah Goodman, DE, Clemson - Need to add depth at DE. Had this guy in for a visit.
6b. Josh Boyce, WR, TCU - Think we need to go WR twice as only Brown is signed beyond next season. Boyce provides good value if he's there.
    7. Rontez Miles, S, California (PA) - If he's there, he's worth a flyer. If not, I could see us going with an offensive lineman like Baca out of UCLA

I would love to see them draft Wilcox, but doubt he makes it out of the 3rd round.

Arthur Brown...I agree if he is there, I don't care what our other needs are, this guy should be here. I can live with waiting to fill some other holes on offense.

If Arthur Brown is gone before #48, then I say we go WR in Rd. 2, whether that be Woods or Hunter. Then I'd be all over a S in Rd. 3. My guy would be Shamarko Thomas but I'd be ok with Wilcox there as well if you think he won't be around in 4.

i love shamarko, but we need more out of a safety then tackles. we need one that covers well too. he's not very good in coverage.

i'd love to get a good corner here too at 48. i would love to see jamar taylor fall. we will need a starter opposite allen soon.

S,CB,ILB in rd.2. we will see who falls at wr , rb and OL in 3. that's my take anyway. of course all my picks every year go to the ravens,so take it with a grain of salt.

I think we need to remember that this draft isn't about this year. IMO, we have all of our starters already planned out (incl. RB IMO). We are looking at establishing something for the future. If we draft NOTHING but Defense this year...I am okay with it, and I mean that. Take impact players in the first 3 rounds. Rounds 4-7 are where you find your depth, but you also find a gem here and there (see A. Brown). If we go OLB, ILB, S in the first 3 rounds, they will be and should be starters in the not so distant future.

I like the players in your mock. I'll be surprised if Brown makes it out of the first 10 picks tonight though..

I would be as well, but I'm not sure many of the "projections" or mocks agree. I have seen mocks with Brown, Minter and T'eo ALL left on the board when we pick at 16 tonight. WOW!

Walterfootball.com has us taking Minter and Shamarko Thomas as the next 2 picks, but Phillip Thomas and Swearinger are both still on the board when we pick...

We are picking guys at positions that are deep while other teams tonight will continue to reach to try to fill needs.

Wouldn't you have to figure that ONE of Te'o, Minter or Brown will be available? Can we really pass one of them up? I want Robert Woods, but fear he will be gone. Then I have a list of guys like Hunt, Banks, Cyprien.

Just remember, there are only 15 picks ahead of us. Chances are 2-3 QBs and a RB are going to be in that mix. I really think we are going to get a REALLY GOOD player at #48.

if brown or minter are there take one. with jones added one of these kids would set us at lb for the next 10 years. just my opinion. u can get a solid rb or wr in the 3rd. not sure ilb of this caliber will be there in 3rd

I'm right there with you on Woods. I HOPE he's there...but I feel he won't be. And who knows if they'd even take him if he was...haha. Should be an even MORE interesting night than yesterday...

Not only that, but some teams will do some stupid stuff again tonight. I am becoming more and more convinced that someone we all thought was going to be a 2nd round pick will be available for us in the 3rd. Again, the depth of this draft through round 1-3 is really where the strength of it is. Not a lot of top 10 players (I think we got one of them somehow), but the guys from 10-75 are all very good. Once you factor in the stupid picks of guys who are overdrafted, we can get a late first round talent in the 3rd. I truly believe that this year.
