His best days are behind him the Steelers would be nuts to give into his demands. He’s under contract this season and franchise him next. By then he’s 33/34 and see ya later.

What the hell is a "hold-in"? Besides what I do with my stomach at the beach.

A hold in is what TJ and Diontae did they show up to camp and just do individual drills.

I am ok with him not being there. He is TJ Watt. We know where his skill level is. He knows the vast majority of the players on the team and has already played with them. At this point, I don't see him learning much or needing to develop rapport with the team. He already has that. He can do conditioning without being there. Maybe missing a bit of training early will keep him more refreshed for later in the season when he normally fades.

The Steelers used to have a stance if you don't report to camp they don't negotiate.

Brutal way to think about the guy who has been the best player on our team for at least the last 4 years (maybe longer). But, it is not a bad thought. I can't see giving a massive long term contract to a guy who is going to be seeing age take its toll very soon based on the history of the NFL players. But it still makes me sad.

It’s the business side. He was a great Steeler but paying guys for what they did in the past as opposed to what they will do in the future is bad business. I’m not saying he’s completely washed and I was damn wrong about Cam but this is a whole different dollar amount.

It doesn't matter. Watt will be long retired next time Steelers win a Super Bowl... if they ever do.

This year seems to be different than his last hold-in negotiation. If the Steelers are serious about a playoff win, they need TJ Watt.

Watt should move on to a team that is serious about winning Super Bowls before he retires. Steelers are not a serious team with coach Popcorn.

I don't have a problem with them paying Watt but they need to make it a shorter deal, so it doesn't hurt the team financially down the road.

My gut says Watt will report on time, so I voted yes.

My gut also says the Khan man will deal him to another team.

I'm any player at that age I'd try to get as much as I could. I really don't want Steelers to waste money on him. Just give us 2025 TJ. Healthy Rodgers leading O and TJ leading D I could see 10-11 W's.

So much hyperbole that no one but Omar and Co and TJ and his people really know whats been offered, but I agree, The Steelers are not going to get the draft capitol they feel is necessary, doubtful anyone would offer the guarantees he wants (possible but doubtful). They may strike a deal, but if it comes to wanting a real chance at a ring or bucks and he wants the ring, follow that desire because it is doubtful you will get another chance.
