same for every other team during that time,so it was not just about Cowher

The pats were 31-1 during the period when they did not face the steelers vs 1-1 against the steelers....

It would been a all-time overreaction to fire Cowher in his 3rd season after a 12-4 season and a afc title game.It was a awful loss of course but I don't think it happen in nfl history that a head coach has been fired after making the conference title game

You're right. That makes firing your 14-2 head coach much more sensible.......

It was a terrible decision by the chargers,Norv Turner was not the answer but the big reason why Marty was fired,he had a power struggle with the GM

The chargers draft have been very poor for several years after that

You've gotta go way back. I grew up in San Diego and have hated that team since the early 70s. Their only really good coaches have been Sid Gilman, Don Coryell and Marty, IMO. I've always hated Harbaugh......

All I'm trying to impress on people is....
    1. If the Steelers listen to the oh so knowing fans , Cowher would never have won a SB....., and....
    2. Teams have never fired a HC that has been to two SB, and never had a losing season.....not in the history of the whole NFL, and I bet money the Rooneys don't want to be the 1st to do it.
Nothing more , and nothing less, Yet some are making a big deal out of what I'm trying to say, they let their anger over come them , and let simply things fly right over there heads.

Hey man you’re the one who keeps bringing up that dumb never had a losing season crap. I could care less what the Bills do. At least their fans have a reason to be excited right now. We already know what the Steelers will do like clockwork.

I think it was our first drive of the game Kordell took off and ran down the left sidelines. 2 Patriot defenders stood there thinking the other one was going to nudge him out of bounds but neither one did and Stewart ran for around a 35 yard TD. That screw up on defense allowed for the only TD in the entire game. The Steelers sat on that 7-0 lead for most of the game allowing only 2 FG's by the Patriots the rest of the way.

I think the Steelers FO and fans expected more from a Ben Roethlisberger led team than just non losing seasons. The fact that Tomlin is still the HC boggles my mind, it really does.

I get what you are saying, Im saying it shouldn’t matter. And you haven’t seen it because no one else has that resume, not exactly a big pool to draw from.

The buck stops with him, fair or unfair, he bears responsibility and right now hes not getting the job done.

And if for no other reason, as I have stated many times, it’s 20 freaking years, time for a change. A new cereal is in order.

I don’t think they will but they sure as hell should “retire” him after this contract is up.

this sounds like a Tomlin stat ;)

he had the PRIVILEGE of beating up on the SUCK Brownies and Bungles for years - and racking up wins.

43 - we agree on almost everything (Like 99.5% of stuff!!!)

but Cowher's teams fell apart at the most critical times - AFCCG's to be most clear.
