Pieces there? My concerns are age and that damn injury bug. In my little Steeler circle (9 of us) we have put money in a pot and then wrote down how many game we think Rodgers will start. Only one went the full 17.

Guy I'm rooting for said 16 cause he'll rest game 17 getting ready for Playoffs.

Then again at the end of the regular season, is this a team that starts out well, hits a stretch and waddles into the PO's to get spanked? Do they get that elusive PO win? Is that enough to feel successful?

I literally have no expectations, hope they are competitive, desire they get into the PO's and get a win...hell even surprise and o further, on the other hand this 'all in' stuff with many aging guys could et us 6 or 7 wins (I think they are better than that, but you can also be a competitive team and have a losing record), sometime the seasons just make no sinse, except you are on the wrong side of the score, lol.

Those ages alone are fine, but saying at 30 you are at the top of you game is a bit much. In one year we have seen guys go from near top to see a rapid decline, it's a long season and injuries happen. I get the 'all in' mentality, to good to say complete rebuild, but latter stages for some, they made the changes to try for this push..the outcome could be spectacular or total bust, but one thing, the Steelers have had more national press on talk shows than anyone else the last few weeks...at least I did not have to hear about Jerry's 'boys!

How much we need to rely on Rodgers depends on the defense, and o line keeping the running game going. If those two falter a bit we’re going to need to lean on old man Rodgers more.

i think the defense will be ok but how much can you expect from 30+ something guys like TJ, Cam, Slay, Ramsey….these guys are going to get tired as the season goes on, their going to start missing tackles, assignments, i just dont know. If we get into the playoffs we’ll be fortunate

Jaire Alexander was a FREE agent. I think the Steelers would be better off today with Jaire Alexander and Minka in the Defensive backfield, then they are right no with NO FREE SAFETY.

Khan has a bad habit of sending our best players away and not replacing them. Last year the Steelers 2 best players on offense are both gone right now.

Who replaced Pickens? Last month our WR room had both DK and Pickens?
Did Khan learn nothing from last year when Pickens was injured and the Steelers ended the season on a 5 game losing streak?

Becuase players are always the best sources for information about their own injuries.

Just curious, why does it matter, that Boswell, who is a fg kicker even be on list? Not like he is running up and down the field, tackling or covering a defender.

And who else is worried about Harmon's so-called injury besides Brice? I don't recall the team having any concerns.

I think you are the only person who is denying that the injury is real.

Not a single person or group is denying that the injury is real. The X-Rays taken at the combine don't lie. Both Harmon and the Steelers have never denied the fact that there is an injury, that will eventually require surgery. Will he be able to play through the entire season is anyone's guess right now.

Eye-Opening Injury Detail Revealed for Steelers First-Round Pick
Mike Prisuta of WDVE reported that Harmon’s MRI at the 2025 NFL Combine showed a partially torn rotator cuff and a torn labrum that caused several teams to move Harmon down their board.

In their comments, neither one denied that an injury existed. Harmon fell to the Steelers despite some projections having him off the board by their turn. Defensive tackles Mason Graham (fifth to Cleveland Browns), Kenneth Grant (13th Miami Dolphins) and Walter Nolen (16to Arizona Cardinals) were all taken above the Oregon and Michigan State product.

One you have to remember “ a source” isn’t always reliable. Also try to remember the Steelers had him in for a visit. During that visit the Steelers doctors reviewed anything and everything about his medical history.

Mike Prisuta also reported that the Steelers were hiring Russ Grimm as their new head coach a day before they hired Tomlin.

He could be the last line of defense on kickoffs. Legs wear out with age. Kicks don't go as far. Not that he's there but it happens. He is part of the team, his age falls in line with the conversation. He is the leading scorer every year. Tell your friend.

That's a half decade older than the average NFL player last season. It's a long season now.
Yep. Remember this from last season?? It can turn that quickly.

Note that half the DBs mentioned are no longer on this team....

    not quite.

    https://briefly.co.za/sports/football/207051-what-average-age-nfl-players-by-position-a-quick-guide/

    https://jokermag.com/average-age-nfl-players/

    https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1683775-when-does-age-catch-up-to-nfl-players

there are many factors that affect average nfl players ages. cost by the time they hit the higher ages has teams moving to cheaper first contract players which plays into the average. it fluctuates by year as well by average age in the league.

And getting younger, not older. The average age peaked a decade ago.

But this trend could slow because of NIL with some players extending their college careers for the easy cash.
