I'll be satisfied if he turns out to be a middle of the road LT. He doesn't have to be an All Pro if Jones is rated as the 15th best LT in the league then I'll take it.

I think Jones will be much better this year if he stay at the LT position...It will make a major difference

There should be no reason to move him this year other than failure to perform

There was a good reason to move him last year and that should help him this year

It would be nice if Jones showed enough for them to pick up his 5th year option, I think Watt is the last first round pick to have his 5th year option picked up by the team.

The steelers need that Jones is not just a average starter..It will be important that one of those tackle don't need help from the TE to block the opposing edge rusher...This is what make the eagles offensive line so good.Their tackle are often in island against the edge rusher and they do their job!

That shows how bad first round picks can turn out

Exactly, and thats what always scares me ,when people then talk about giving up multiple draft picks to move up for ANYONE in the draft.

But but I keep reading we should just move up and get a “franchise” quarterback

I know, but not by me. There is no such thing as a , for freaking sure,
Franchise anything being drafted. History of the whole NFL shows this, and that's why I don't like to give up picks.

I agree for all but QBs. For the QB position, if you have a strong view that a particular guy has what it takes to be a true franchise QB, and you need a QB, you can’t be shy. Better to trade up for the guy you feel great about than wait for just the “next best QB” on your board.

What if We traded up to get a Qb before Ben?
I've just watched so many teams traded up, and wasted draft stock, and come away with nothing. Yes people can show me one that have worked out, but I can show many that have not.

Aren’t you the guy who was playing the “we should have traded up to draft CJ Stroud” game?

Yes, but that was with the idea of playing Mason, and what we had here at Qb, and not signing Trubisky, and Drafting Pickett. Therefore a potentially higher draft pick, and less distance to move up.
Which is fantasy, and Hypothetical, and stuff since it didn't actually happen, I really don't like to talk about now, but yes I did want him.

The outcome of the 5th year option will tell us if Kahn/Tomlin had their first miss together. Remember, they traded up for the pick.

Did they, for some reason I don't remember that(maybe I do, I seem to remember being upset with that pick, but I usually I am, if it's not a CB LoL), what was the move, and how much did they give???

You’re going to be really upset next draft when we trade 2027 and 2028 1st rounders, plus (2) 2026 3rds to move into the top 5 for a QB.

    I hope not.
I hope we are so happy with our SB win, that they don't freak out, and move up to just get a Qb....just because...Remember many thought that the year before the Pickett draft that there would be a lot of Qbs worth taking, and by the time the draft actually rolled around, none were worth a 1st round, let alone worthy of moving up to get one.

It depend always of the player...I am sure the chiefs are happy with their trade up in the 2017 draft for Mahomes.....Same for the steelers with Polamalu in 2003.Yes if this pick is bad, like the steelers for Devin Bush,it will hurt the team big time but sometimes you have to take risk if you want to be a super bowl contender at some point!

I don't remember in 2022 being considered as a good QB class before the draft

It wasn't. There were some predictions out there that had the Steelers trading up to take Pickett or even Willis, but that was never a good idea.

Some people wanted them to draft CB Christain Gonzalez that year.

I was one of them, but it's not like they gave up a huge haul to move up.

A disturbing stat on Ramsey; according to SIS in 2024 he had a miss tackle rate of 31%.
That's not just bad, that is scary bad. Missing nearly one in three tackles!!!! If this happens this season the fanfare will dry up faster than a worm on a hot sidewalk.

Just a note, When we win the Super Bowl this season, drafting 32nd will force us to use much more draft capital to move up to get our franchise QB.
