I was thinking about that same thing. Although not because of Rodgers, I don't see Tomlin trying to give a bear hug after a game. And because Tomlin is very good at reading people.

Aaron Rodgers is going to leave the game like Elway did with a Super Bowl win.

I just read that they are so impressed with Dart that they feel he will start sooner rather than later.

Now let's think....imagine if Wilson had played all the games, and Pickens had not gotten hurt, and been out for some of those games. I believe we win at least one more game.
That doesn't mean he will do well with the Giants, but as of the mind , his probably their best Qb right now.

They blew it losing to the Bengals that was the most winnable game in that tough stretch of games, they held that high powered offense to under 20 points. Freaking Goerge Pickens had the worst game of his career by dropping 3-4 passes, if they had won that game they would've played Houston instead of Baltimore in the playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers vs Arthur Smith? Who is going to win this battle?

I've heard Aaron talk about how in the huddle he will call 2 or 3 plays and then decide when they break the huddle and line up which play he is going to run.

Steelers QBs under Arthur Smith and even Matt Canada always complained about how they were only given 1 play to run, and were expected to run that play every time and not audible out of it.

That can't be true, because I can point to plays under both, that have been changed at the line of scrimmage. Matter of fact, I've pointed them out on the game day thread , during the game.

    You don't believe this then?

“According to several sources, Smith did not want Wilson changing plays at the line of scrimmage, like he did in Cincinnati, and deviating from the game plan. Wilson’s desire to attack with the pass and throw down the field clashed with Smith’s run-first mentality, causing philosophical friction between the two,” Dulac said.

I think they clamped down on that during the losing streak.

As for Canada, straight from Muths lips that Pickett wasn’t allowed to.

Good write-up on steelernation about the difference between Rodgers on the NYJ last season and Steelers this season.

Rodgers coming into the Jets with expectations that he would be the veteran leader on a very young Jets team. He was expected to show how to prepare for NFL games. Nobody on that team was his peer. Thus he had to bear the leadership load by himself. Thus he wanted his players on the team. Guys he could trust.

With the Steelers, they already have tenured leaders that can be considered Rodgers' peers. Heyward, Watt, Fitzpatrick. Rodgers doesn't have to carry the leadership load this season. It can be shared by several teammates. That can make a big difference in the locker room vs what the Jets had.

I can only tell You what I saw. Did they clamp down on it at one point, maybe, but for anyone to say they never let the Qbs change the plays is a flat out lie. As I said , I've pointed it out during the games, but again ,they could have had games where they wouldn't allow it, but again to say never would be a lie.

The steelers limit way too much often the QB to change the play...It was also the case when Roethlisberger was our QB no matter who was his OC.It don't mean it was always the case, like Ben had full control in 2 minutes or must score situation but too often he could not change the play

Thought I read somewhere that Smith forbid Wilson to change plays during the last two minutes of the halves. Looking it up that would account for only a handful of plays during Wilson's starts.

There are several factors involved with having a successful offense,It all comes down to if the Steelers OL
can protect Mr. Darkside, if Mr Darkside can still move, If play calling is capable. which I have my doubts.
Get ready for many check downs!
