We need viable backups along the O-line...
Currently, Ryan McCollum is the only backup that i'm comfortable with.....if anyone goes down to injury, than we would have a disaster on our hands

They need Dylan Cook to have a good camp to be a backup tackle.

I agree, but we will know more as the season progress. They may have some others that can do it. Players get better.

a couple of guys have delt with injuries too that if healthy now may be OK as well. cook and c. anderson. remember villaneuevo and feiler were UDFA's that took a couple of years to get productive. they turned out pretty good.

cook was coming on and last year was hampered by a lis franc foot injury all year. anderson has had some life threatening injuries or illnesses that he is finally over. both were showing very promising improvement prior to those setbacks. nester was a pretty good player while at WVU i know. the two UDFA's we picked up seem to be highly thought of but will need some time.

spencer anderson. can fill in anywhere.
steven jones. a big ole dude. i know nothing about. 6-5 340 from oregon.
nick broeker. 3rd year out of mississippi.
gareth warren. a big dude as well. 6-6 333. only 21. small school kid.
aiden williams. 6-5 314. another small school kid.

    scharping is 6-6 327.
    nester 6-6 307.

they said they wanted to get bigger up front. a couple of these newbies if they make it have done that.

I feel like OL tends to be a group where UDFAs and late round picks tend to have a higher chance of success than other positions. I don’t know if that bears out statistically, but it seems that way. That said, I don’t know much about most of these guys. Most of them weren’t on my radar pre-draft. I wasn’t happy with the play of either of the Andersons last season. IMO Spencer flat out sucked when he got his chance. Calvin looked barely serviceable in pre season, and if I remember right he managed to give up a sack while only playing about 10 snaps in the regular season. I know he was a solid backup in Denver, but he didn’t seem like the same guy last year.

The one guy that intrigues me is Cook. I’ve liked his play in preseason, and I hope he can push C Anderson down the depth chart.

i agree about cook. now for c. anderson, if he can get back to his ability he had even with new england before he had a hit to the chest after almost dying from malaria. would be nice if he could get back to where he once was. we shall see.

spencer anderson has been moved inside to being that 3rd emergency center. yea he didn't look to good. we will have to wait and see what these newbies bring as far as position flexibility which is good on game day.
