Signing guys right now doesn't affect the comp formula.

I had Wilson as a 2nd round talent based on my own watching.

There would be no comp pick impact. Starting on the Monday after the draft, free agent signings do not affect the comp pick formula

Wilson will be ready. WR room is decent. Not great but who cares. Run the damn ball

Hopefully. Relying on him is a risk, just like relying on a newly drafted rookie WR is a risk. However, I think he’s less of a risk because the team has had him in the building for a year so they know a lot more about what they’re getting than they would with a rookie.

What I don’t get is people dismissing him as a potential contributor and expressing frustration that we didn’t draft a rookie to be the #2 receiver. Like the rookie would be a sure thing.

As some have already mentioned, the Steelers may be counting on him being the #2, I have my doubts but he does have good college tape like this.

they should have added another in henigan. yes it would be unfair so we should get rid of the head one. mike tomlin was at memphis at one point, so we should make it a little fairer and just let him go. :smiley1::cool:

Allen's got some flex to where he lines up. Over his career he's logged just over 50% of his snaps from the slot, so he's not as exclusive to it as some. I also don't think Wilson has to be confined to the slot - he's the same size as Diontae, who took the majority of his snaps on the outside.

Free agent signings stop counting against the comp formula after the draft, so no worries there.

I was very happy with the pick when they made it, but I'm not fond of counting on him to take on a big role after he played only five snaps and didn't catch a pass his entire rookie season due to injuries.

We both know that isn't going to happen, so please kindly stick your condescending rudeness somewhere uncomfortable and try to stay on topic. Thank you.

Harder to run it well without viable options on the outside, and vice versa (both play off of each other). The threat of DK/Pickens alone would have helped open up some running lanes (or kept players out of the box). The WR corps being garbage will definitely be detrimental to our ability to run the ball effectively.

Sure, that is something they have to say if they want to keep the morale in the room. If they really truly are happy with our WR room, then they probably shouldn't be allowed to build an NFL roster.

Keeping Pickens would've helped the running game a lot they would've faced less stacked boxes.

What makes you think he isn't done? Khan screwed up this very thing last year, leaving the team with only one capable starting receiver. Having Van Jefferson on the field so much made things incredibly easy for opposing defenses.

It is very likely that signing Woods was his way of filling out the receiver room in anticipation of trading Pickens. They are putting nonsense out there about Roman Wilson stepping up even though it would be idiotic to expect big things from him this season. It could happen, but man, they are counting way too much on guys who missed most of last season on offense.
