This could be the draft that makes the future for the Steelers very promising if they hit on all of these top draft picks.

Under normal circumstances, I could agree with this. But I really do think that Mike tomlin's never lost a season record has become its own juggernaut. The Steelers will do anything they have to do to keep that going. I can see Mike Tomlin spending the farm to get what he needs to ensure that he gets nine wins. And then retiring, leaving the steeler's bankrupt in future drafts.

Unless of course MT pulls a surprise and trades 4 picks for an unbelievable 30 year CB that will finally make our secondary more than mediocre. OK enough sarcasm, this off season has left me less than enthused, so maybe it's just 3 picks.

I do not believe they sit around discussing this, the juggernaut is the belief this makes them better than they really are. so continue to fill in experienced washed up players to reach that play off win.

Tomlin won 8 games with an injured Mason and Duck...he could win 9 with a healthy Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson.

The 6th ranked QB is Cade Klubnik of Clemson.

The defense was much better back then. At any rate the Steelers aren't going to have Rudolph as their starter this year. If Rodgers retires then the Steelers will bring in someone like Joe Flacco or Cooper Rush.

Rush as signed by the Ravens, the QB list has gotten really short.

I agree that they most likely do not sit around discussing this. It probably never comes up as a topic in conversation. But human nature being what it is, there's a lot of conversations with unsaid parts to it. I really do think that having a winning season is a factor in Mike tomlin's head. Obviously I have absolutely zero proof of this, and maybe I'm wrong.

Think about legacies. Take Bill belichick as an example. What's his legacy? He has a lot of super bowl rings, but every one of them came with Tom Brady at the helm. The moment Tom Brady stepped out, the team fell apart. So was it Brady or belichick?

I see the situation that Mike Tomlin is in in a similar light. What is Mike tomlin's legacy? He has a couple of super bowl wins. He has an unbroken string of winning seasons. And he has a lot of failure in the playoffs. If he had retired at the end of last year, people are going to remember long career with a lot of wins and no losing seasons. If he has a losing season this year and then retires, it will be a much different look at his legacy. He finished with a whimper. Maybe Mike Tomlin doesn't think about that. But I will bet that he does.

Honestly can't argue with any of those thoughts, but something mentioned on the radio last week just made me chuckle, He is just 1 or 2 (forget) consecutive playoff losses of tying/passing Schottenheimer. So he has another 'juggernaut' lol, keep the season winning streak going and lose 1st round in the p/o's and set yet another legacy destroyer. It's tough being the highest paid HC let me tell you. lol

I don't think you placed enough importance on Head Coach and the sucking sound from that position. I'd like to see it listed first and in all caps next time. Thanks!
I agree though, a handle of late 3rd picks isn't moving a team up more than 5 or 6 spots in the mid/early first. It would alos need 2027 first. I mean, IF they could pull off a deal for Manning assuming Manning looks that good this fall, cool, but I seriously doubt the team in top 3 in QB need would trade back in that case. I also don't think we'd outbid another team tossing three first to the top 2 picking team.

We have alot of holes, moving up next year, probably not wise. Istead, get this team youthful and improved at 3 or 4 positions with the oldest and worst depth.

Maybe use that top 12 pick (if no Rodgers, we'll have a losing record next year, almost guaranteed) on a top QB, but more likely the best are gone and we get a top DL or CB or OT.

When i seen manning play against uga, it wasn't good. But he needs to have a year under his belt to see how he'll be.

By the way....... DRAFT A NEW COACH

I think a couple of these picks are subject to change based on how much Fields and Wilson play this season. They will have 11 total picks that's enough to move up and draft a franchise QB, they might have to give up some picks in 2027 too.

Wilson- players with 10+ seasons accrued may yield no more than a fifth round pick, even if their compensation would otherwise be assigned higher.
