I remember a lot more failure than success. I guess it depends if you count Eli Manning or not. The Giants technically traded for Manning after the Chargers took him because the Chargers wanted to make sure they were getting Rivers in return, but it was effectively the same as trading up for a quarterback and it worked out well for the Giants. Maybe they win those two Super Bowls with Rivers, too, but that's no sure thing.

The same was true of the Broncos getting John Elway. The Colts took Elway, then traded him for a first-round pick that year, a first-rounder the following season and quarterback Mark Herrmann.

I would agree mostly, there were a lot of teams that passed on Marino and Rodgers, but there is no one in this draft (at least QB) that fits that standard, at least non that I see. Sanders is not as good or bad as some project, but as you say do we have the system and support to develop him? I think not.

I don't think Steelers will do anything ---except take their pick at 21--Will it be a QB ---I don't even think we will get Cousins...So will it be Dart or Sanders or someone else---Will it be DL --Which I'm thinking it will be. This Rodgers thing is old now-- And getting tiresome...Just go with Mason get the QB next year if nothing else..

“Might” being the key word there.

If they don’t believe he will get past the Saints and they believe he is a franchise QB then you do what is necessary to secure him. Would it still be stupid if they trade up and turns out to be a top QB in the league?

Yup. Many people thought the Chiefs were stupid for doing that. Bet a lot of teams wish they were that stupid now.

I agree to an extent. If a team needs a franchise qb and believe a player is the guy then you do what it takes. With that being said I hope and pray the Steelers don’t think any of these quarterbacks are the guy

The Steelers should be on the phone with the Chiefs to try and trade down.

It would be a lucky break bailing them out of a bad risk. Sanders isn't an elite prospect. He isn't a great athlete. He has average size and a middling arm. He is tough, smart, and accurate, but the limited physical tools are not worthy of a top-three pick.

Mahomes had an elite NFL arm. Sanders does not have that. Also, there is a difference between trading up to No. 10 and the top 3.

If you believe the draft value charts just the difference between 10 and 3 equals a first round pick

Then toss in getting up to the value of 10 and the premium required you would have to give away 3 years of firsts and then something

Must have a hell of a lot of confidence. More chance of injury doing that. I always remember Randy Moss getting an INT. The Patriots used him on defense once in awhile and it paid off.

Hunter is good but he is soon going to have to make a decision about what position he wants to play. Carter looks like the next Bruce Smith.

They sell others, but they brew their own beers - Committed is my favorite, but they're all good. Here's a link to the rest of the lineup.

Two locations in Pittsburgh I believe.

That sounds about right and it would be a huge mistake to do that for Sanders.
