Seeing his name being mentioned as a potential trade target. Apparently he wants a big payday.

Was never really enchanted with the Brock Purdy mania. Interesting outside the box thought though.

I’d say keep your draft picks, especially if hes looking for 55 million a year.

If that was real I would make that move. He reads the field well and doesn't panic. Maybe I'm dirnking the Kool Aid but if that was out there I would be all over that.

I think he’s overrated. Capable, but needs an army of talent around him to succeed.

The question has to be is it Purdy or is it the system

He's better than what the Steelers have had after Ben, but he definitely needs the playmakers.

49ers ranked 3rd in RAC this year behind the Ravens and Packers. They were 1st in 2023 and 5th in 2022.

Pass, the Steelers can't afford to give up any draft picks.

Not happening, but I would do this.

Whatever preposterous contract you offer him, it will seem reasonable in two years. And as for the draft picks required to get him, most don’t make it anyway. Also he does not seem like a head case or miscreant (cough cough…DeShaun Watson).
Wasn’t he Mr. Irrelevant a few years ago? Kid has done well for himself. And he is still only about 25 or 26 and has a ring.
Anyway, this is not happening so it is just a thought experiment.

They'll end up signing him. Where are they gonna get another? There are none. And they have invested almost nothing in him over the last three years. Draft capital or monetarily.

Is it the system or player was asked. That's a great question.

Kyle is a genius offensive mind. I love the fact that Mac Jones is going there and Mac has said he loves the move as well.
I thought during that draft that Jones would be a fit there in SF.
Now before someone thinks I am touting this as an endorsement for Jones being the next Montana.... lol
Jones is a serviceable QB that can be a second tier QB and can get you to the show as he has done.
But also, as pointed out, you need a Kyle type OC and the right players around him.
    He's a lot like Purdy.

Purdy has been nothing short of magnificent especially given he was the last pick.
I don't want to pay the price for his success in SF. I'd prefer to find our own and experience the situation SF is now facing.
If I do make that splash move, then I'd better be sure there's a staff on hand to get the best out of him and I'd better be prepared to invest in those types of players to put around him. You simply do not buy a Ferrari and put regular gas into it and drive it 40mph.

Maybe? I might be in on Purdy for our first round pick if the Niners are dead set on moving him. He's at least a swing at having the QB of the future. I'm probably not doing a Watson style deal, but for a first this year and maybe next year's second I could be in. Lots of holes disappear with quality QB play.

And Purdy turned down a contract offer in 30s or 40s per year already n he's not the answer

The only Purdy we could get is the scrub brother.

But they made a good selection with their second round pick

    Can’t argue with that

Some would and have, but its all in logistics. We traded Claypool for what essentially turned into the 32nd pick of that draft, our pick was traded for an established guy who for now cost a small mint. If we can find a guy to chuck it to him and him, that small mint may actually seem tame to what some guys are going to get. It may go south, oh well some trades do...but from what we had, this looks very good.

Of course we do not specifics, but seems like he wants Dak money, they want to pay the amount you stated. Some owner may be crazy enough to do it, but Purdy better should look closely. His surrounding cast is gone and his numbers last year reflected that. he is in a good situation, great structure and will get him the talent again, leave that and end up in possible no man's land.

Nope, he needs a perfect set up around him. He's not going to carry your team when you have 2-3 weapons out, and your o-line isn't fantastic.

Agree that Purdy is in the perfect system in San Fran. Unlike the Steeler system where the QB system is solely on the QB and even not allowed to change plays.

    An Army of talent?!

How about an entire military industrial complexes worth?! The amount of All Pro and/or HOF level Players San Fran had from 2019 to 2024 was ridiculous.
