I agree with Nick let's see Arch play a full season in the SEC first, the Steelers won't be bad enough to even have a shot at drafting him. All that talk of tanking just to get him is just stupid .

Tanking an entire season is a stupid approach no matter who the player.

Now if it’s towards the end of the season and a loss guarantees you the #1 pick, then yeah, bench all your starters.

Or you could give up ALL your picks for him like:

Can you imagine if Ditka wears that wig these days? He'd be fired immediately and cities would burn.:lolol:

Maybe that team wouldn't need to rest their starters!

I remember the day that trade happened. I was sitting in my lawncare truck in Denver Colorado having lunch and they announced it on the radio. What a trade.

Outside of manning, Drew Allar is the only one I've closely watched

I haven't watched any enough to say I've watched them "closely", but I have a bit of a feeling of the types of guys each could closely resemble... I think the high end talent (and high end ceiling) of next year's class is probably better than this years, but after the top 3 it is hard for me to say if any of them are better prospects than Dart, Ewers, McCord, Howard, etc.

Arch Manning - If he can put together an impressive season, he will easily be one of the most hyped first overall picks in a while. He probably most resembles Andrew Luck or a bit more athletic Joe Burrow. He is the highest ceiling prospect, and probably has an exceptionally high floor as well. We would have a hard time being bad enough for a shot at him

Nico Iamaleava - Another guy that can turn a great season into a top 5 pick in next year's draft. He is Colin Kaepernick athletically, but has more of a Justin Herbert play style. He is going to be more of a "love him or hate him" type of guy, but the talent is there. He will likely be jockeying with Allar for QB2 during the season.

Drew Allar - He really needs a good season as well for me to be comfortable. He gives off Ben vibes with his size and toughness to bring down. He's just frustratingly inconsistent. He doesn't turn it over much, but he misses really easy plays all too often and his inability to get his team victories against the best talent in the conference (2023 Mich, 2023/24 OSU, and 2024 Oregon). He's been meh to bad in those games. He needs some work, however, the ceiling is definitely there. The arm, athleticism, and ability in a vertical attacking offense can be alluring. He should be a top 10 pick and I'd imagine a serious target for the organization.

Garrett Nussmeier - Big arm, natural passer/gunslinger, and absolutely fearless. However, his frame could be a question mark. He could be a Baker Mayfield or Tony Romo type for sure. He should be considered a first round talent if he can stay healthy and have a productive year.

LaNorris Sellers has a pretty high projection right now, but I don't know anything about him. Then we have the likes of Sam Leavitt, Carson Beck, Cade Klubnik, Miller Moss, etc....

I also watched a few Sam Leavitt games while scouting Cam Skattebo. If this kid can reign in what he has, he could be something else. For a firstyear starter he did great last year. He has a BIG arm. Being that he's still so young, and he's only like 200 lbs, it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't come out next year. Then again, who knows.

Klubnik flew under the radar last year, but he's already projected to be in the top 5 in Heisman race. I saw a couple of his games, he definitely has all the tools and I like his creativity. I just looked it up, he had 36 td's to 6 int's. Didn't realize it was that good.

Nuss is my guy as of now. Was hoping he would've come out but he would've went top 2. Sellers is the big X factor, he's so intriguing. If Allar can just clear that last hurdle in his mind, the sky's the limit. And, I'll be interested to see if Beck can resurrect his career in Miami.

Will be fun to see who emerges next year.

Hines Ward, says the kid from ArizonaSt, is a winner, Nussmyer,
from LSU, The kid from Clemson is worth watching. He'll even Pitt has QB
that may play his way into conversation. There out there we just need to find the right one. I fully expect Steelers to draft one this year maybe 4th round. We have to get
a veteran bridge QB not named Rodgers to hold down fort till we get ours next year.

Chalk up another Nussmeyer fan here. I like the mental makeup he shows on the field. We really have no idea on Arch. He has shown flashes, but that’s all we’ve had a chance to see.

Nussmeier is fearless, but small. He's probably going to be vying for QB4 in the draft, as Manning, Iamaleava, and Allar will all be ranked ahead of him. Means we might have a shot at him regardless of how our season goes if we want him.

Manning will have to have a disaster season to not be QB1 in the draft. We haven't seen a ton of him, but he's big, has a great arm, can move, and has the best pedigree in the league. A halfway decent college season sees him as the snap #1 pick in the draft. Iamaleava is the physical specimen that could get Jayden Daniels type hype, and Allar is going to be desired for his arm, size, and athleticism.... All 3 will be top 10 picks next year barring very poor college seasons.

Nussmeier needs to cut down on the interceptions from when I have watched him play.

Sellers another athletic qb. Runs well, throwing is inconsistent. Would be a project for a NFL team
You are spot on about Allar. Big Ben vibes, but deer in headlights at times. Very inconsistent.

Cool, thanks for the info on Sellers. If we are QB hunting next season I am sure I will get a better look at him sometime lol

I understand why the hype is there for sure on Allar. I just have the experience of watching him where I go "wow, that was nice" a few times a game, but just as much I find myself going "oh, he sucks... nvm". Lets see where his stock is after another season. He has a shot to improve and impress some teams. He will likely be a first round QB anyways with his size/athleticism combo anyways. I am nearly positive that our organization will love him.

If we draft Allar I would be highly disappointed. Unless he has a revelation 2nd day pick at best.
