I am arguing with a buddy about resting starters against Cinci if Baltimore wins. I say no they won’t. What do all of my Steeler brethren think?

Even if we can't win the division I think winning will take us to Houston (and we will kick their ass) and losing to beautiful Buffalo where we will get our ass kicked.

Our playoff future is in the balance for the Bengals game. If we win then we play at Houston, lose and then we play at Baltimore. It's as simple as that, who do you want to play in the playoffs Houston or the Ravens?

He is right to play to win even if the Ravens clinch the division before the game against the Bengals starts. It is worth it just to go to Houston instead of Baltimore, but the Steelers also need to right the ship before the playoffs begin if they can.

They will not go to Buffalo. The Bills will play the No. 7 seed, which will be either the Broncos, Dolphins, or Bengals. The lowest the Steelers can fall is the No. 6 seed, which would send them to Baltimore. That would be if they lose to the Bengals Saturday and the Chargers beat the Raiders Sunday.

If the game didn't affect playoff seeding, I wouldn't sit everybody, but the guys with nagging injuries wouldn't play. That would include Watt and Jackson. I would give Porter another week of recovery. I wouldn't play Harris or Warren. Neither of them is 100 percent. The Steelers don't have that choice, which is probably a good thing. I can't see them turning it around in the playoffs if they end on a four-game losing streak.

I don't think they rest the starters - in large part because the starters have played very poor football over the last three games and clearly need as much game time as they can get to iron out their problems.

If anyone gets dinged up I could see them not going back in. Otherwise I think they play. Whether they win or lose isn't the big issue. It's how the starters play.

This is what I had said to my friend. KC can do that because they work and play hard in game. Steelers have been resting for a month now. Time to show em what you’re worth. Rubber meets the road time.

I read somewhere on here that if the Dolphins win over the Jets, the Bengals are eliminated as well. The Bengals need to win and get lots of help. They should be coming into Saturday fully focused on beating us.

I can see the logic with both sides of the discussion. Winning gets us an easier first round trip to Houston. Also, getting healthy makes us better vs whoever we play in that first round. I could go along with both plans.

If we lose we go to Baltimore. We could be as healthy as we've been all year but it's unlikely we win there. That's why we have to go all out and beat the Bengals to book that trip to Houston.
