he's our fastest receiver too right now. austin a possibility? using our 3rd to move up maybe. we could always look later for a rodney smith to get tall.

manny will hurt if we lose him. he was our leading receiver in yards per catch last year. he and ben have meshed pretty well too over his time here.

remember this is a new offense that they are all one year in together. throwing a new guy in the mix delays that some. it takes receivers some time to get used to bens game.

moss, buress, cotchery and brown would be fun to watch though. quite the veteran bunch with austin added, i would be less worried about offense.

That was from Saturday morning and since then Sanders has said that he has not received an offer sheet.

By Sanders via his FB page "I have NOT been offered anything," Sanders writes. "Balls out of my court. All I can do is continue to grind and trust the man above. He has the plan for me..."

"I don't know what the Pats are going to do. If they do offer then I will have a HUGE decision to make. But that's not the case right now."

I don't think we'd need to move up in the first to draft Austin. He should be there at 17. In fact, we could probably move back in the first and have a shot at drafting him.

just depends how they fall. the production on the field is there, thats for sure. he's been getting alot of buzz lately. pro day may have something to do with that. i wouldn't be assured of anything like moving back and expecting a certain guy to be there with his resume' and speed. ol'#7 likes to go downfield. we may be losing our two deep threats. add him with moss, plax, cotchery and AB. i'd pay money to see that. oh yea, i already do. LOL.

The more i think abot it ,I dont think the Pats will sign him, I find it hard to beleive they wouild be willing to give a 3rd round pic to the STEELERS, if he was on another team they prob would not have a probgiving up a 3rd ....:roflmao::facepalm:

You may be right. I'm kind of neutral on this one. I would gladly take the Pat's third round pick if they want to sign Sanders and if they don't, keeping Sanders would be okay too. It's kind of like six of one and half a dozen of another. We'd get a third rounder and so far in his career Sanders has performed about like, well, a third rounder.

Not for nothing, but New England drafts 29 out of 32 teams. That 3rd round pick would be at the very bottom of the 3rd round (91st overall - out of 94 picks through 3 rounds). Pretty much a 4th-round pick.

If the Pats are interested, I would guess that they will wait until the draft to make him an offer.

Jenkins would have no bearing on if they want Sanders or not. They have until I think April 19th to sign Sanders to an offer sheet if they want him.

I just can't see Belichick giving up a third rounder for him. The Pats are draft pick poor this year anyway.

Agreed. Pats fans on other sites are not in favor of giving up a third for him-and for that same reason. Not many picks, and almost as many holes to fill.
