You stay at home of others lose in the playoffs also. Not everyone that has a home game will win.
    We see it every year.

You win the Division with the Ravens , and Bengals game. We didn't need the Eagles game , or the KC game to win the division.

I find it hilarious that you would believe that Gooddell cares one iota what Mikeyg thinks. How are you going to punish a guy that makes 40 million a year? You gonna throw rocks at his yacht?

You play to win smartly. It's not like teams haven't been doing this in every sport for ever.
A guy is a little banged up.....ah we don't need this game ....rest him. To say any different would be a huge fib. Week 5 the Eagles game would be huge....week 15....with a 10-3 record....lead in the division, and two division, and 3 conference games up coming....the Eagles game means nothing .
This is like saying lifting with Your legs is a kitten move.....no ....it's smart. LoL

But, it wasn’t a meaningless game.

With a 10-3 record, and 2 divional games, and a conference a game ahead. With already two Defense starters out, and Your numbers 1 Wr out. Yeah a NFC game was pretty meaningless. It was so meaningless.....we lost, and still made the playoffs.

No, but in the divisional round the home teams win about 75% of the time. It was relevant before this past weekend, but it’s no longer relevant after both Buffalo and KC won and we lost. Buffalo has the Patriots twice and the Jets left. They are able to gun for the #1 seed and can get it if Mahomes misses a few games. For us to pass KC, we’d need to win out and they’d need to lose out. All that matters now is securing the division.

Exactly what I was saying. Look at both their remaining schedules, and look at ours, and know ....We would have had to win out.....You , Tom, John boy, and I both knew that with 2 defensive starters out, and our number 1 Wr out.....we were not going to win all those games....so....You think.....what game could we afford to lose....Hmmm:hmm:.....We are 10-3.....we have a NFC team , and then 2 divisional, and a conference game...:hmm: ....I say the NFC team would be the one. JMO, and the same thing I was saying a week before we played them. All I know is this for a fact. If they had actually done it.....TJ would be playing healthy against the Ravens this week.

OK I get it but if you win those other games and lose the Ravens game then you still have a chance. Do you think by resting players we automatically win in Baltimore?

But mikeyg got the attention he wanted. He is 9-8 every year on getting 20 responses to starting these goofy threads. So he's good.

Zay isn’t elite and Andrews has been a shell of himself this season. I could see Likely hurting us more than Andrews but I think they will limit the damage there.

Steelers have Jacksons number, they defend him better than anyone. Of course I probably just jinx them and he will probably light them up now.

Andrews can still play. They simply don't need to rely on him as much as they did in the past. He has been more productive this season than Likely.

But if we would have beaten the Eagles we would still have a 2 game lead over the Ravens instead of a one game lead. Meaning all we would have needed was a win against the Bengals in week 18 to win the division. Now with the loss to the Eagles it looks like the division title is gone. The Ravens are winning their last 3 games, meaning now the Steelers have to win 2 of their 3 games which probably isn't happening.

I have a family holiday event to attend in Maryland so I won't be able to watch the game. The Steelers usually win when I cannot watch so here's hoping.

He’s not the dominant player he was and his production isn’t that much more for being the #1 TE. About 100 more yards but does have twice as many TDs, 8 to 4. Steelers focus will be on Andrews though, I could see a path where Likely hurts them more.
