I think this will be pretty close to what it'll be.
Our road to the superbowl i think will be play a
    - game at home to chargers or who ever.
    - go to Buffalo,
    - go to kc OR Ravens come here.

If the steelers and Bills finish with the same record, the steelers will likely have the edge for the tiebreaker at the end

Because if they have the same conference record and common game like this is the case right now,the next tiebreaker will be the strength of victory and the steelers will have the edge

So if in week 15,the steelers(vs eagles) and bills(vs detroit) have the same result(win or lose) and the steelers beat Baltimore in week 16,the steelers will have the tiebreaker over Buffalo no matter what

The next 3 weeks will tell us everything we need to know about the Steelers viability as a playoff team.

I’m very happy with the season which has exceeded all my expectations, BUT, playing the
Eagles, Chiefs and Ravens on a crappy schedule; Sunday, Saturday, Thursday, will let us know whether the Steelers are just a good team that has exceeded everyone’s expectations, or a very good team that can make a real run.

I’m not saying we have to win all 3 games to be a true Super Bowl contender, but we also can’t lose all 3, or get blown out in 2 out of 3. If for no other reason than the Steelers may face all 3 of those exact same teams in the playoffs and Super Bowl if they reach it. Confidence matters.

I don't think this is quite true. IF the both Buf and Pit have same result next week, and end up tied. they will have the same conf record.
So the next step is common opponents. The common opponents for the Bills/Steelers are : NYJ, KC, Bal, Indy. Right now the Bills are 3-1 vs these teams w/ NYJ left to play. The Steeleers are 2-1 with Balt and KC left to play.

Given the Scenario you outlined, that the Steelers beat the Ravens, both the Bills/PGH will be 3-1 in Common Opponents, with Bills vs Jet and Steelers vs KC, left. If Bills win and KC loses, the Bills would win the TB, if Buf loses and Pit beats KC, the Steelers win the common opponents TB.
But if both teams end up tied on common opponents, it will come down to strength of victory. the Bills have the edge right now per ESPN, but it could go either way. SOV will be impacted by the results of something like 55 remaining games.

Right now I’d be more wary about the Steelers playing the Chargers than any of the other teams.

The playoff picture is just that. A picture. A snapshot in time. So many things can change over the next 4 weeks.

I love where we are right now. On top of the division, in the playoff picture, still in for the #1 overall seed in the AFC. Heck, my preseason prediction of 13-4 is even still alive.

IF, we are to lose one of these last 4 games, let it be the one in Philly. I would rather just win them all.

To me it would be the cherry on top if the Broncos end up in Pittsburgh for the AFCCG and Russel Wilson beating them to go onto the SB. It would be the greatest slap in the face to John Elway as he is sitting up in the owners box while still paying 92% of his salary.

    Just an FYI....
Elway isn't part of the Broncos organization anymore. Ended last year before the season started.

You are 100% right about KC....But for the rest,if BUF and PIT have the same result next week and the steelers beat BAL and KC,the steelers will have the tiebreaker if they have the same record because of the strenght of victory.....I have done the playoffs machine last week mutiple time and the steelers will have the edge on that

NFL.Com is showing the Bills over the Steelers in their current Playoff ranking. Why are you saying the Steelers hold the tie breaker?

    upload_2024-12-9_14-8-14.png

Maybe the NFL.Com ranking is calculating the current strength of Victory, while you are calculating the Strength of victory if both the Steelers and Bills win out???

It will change at the end because the strength of victory will change....The Bills have a very soft schedule after Detroit(Pats twice and jets,3-10 teams)and the steelers will face much better team,so this is at that time that the strength of victory will change if they have the same record

You need to do the playoffs machine and you will see that

Crazy thing is the Bills clinched their division 2 weeks ago and the Chiefs clinched thiers this week.

The East , whoever is decent has and easy ride to the playoffs!

That's the real difference, First it was NE and their Dynasty of winning the division before Thanksgiving, now it's the Bills!

Imagine if the Browns end the season 4-2 in the division (sweep the Ravens, spit the series with the Steelers and the Bengals), maybe with a win at home (where they play better) against the #1 Chiefs, but still have to face the fact that they were eliminated from the playoffs with 4 games to go.

I think Buffalo is by far the most dangerous team of them all. Hard to imagine us going to Buffalo and winning. Now if Buffalo came to Acrisure, I’d say we have a punchers chance. I just dread the thought of facing them at any point in the playoffs unless by chance it’s in our house.

Allen is next level this year a 1 man wrecking crew. I wouldn’t want to play them or KC because of Mahomes and the Refs.

To be fair Buffalo is getting their fair share of calls/non-calls. I'm still waiting for Allen to get clocked this year though.

Little worried about Pickens now if the grade 2 tear is correct. He could be out weeks with that and I can’t see us winning any of these 3 games without him.

Allen has been clocked many times this season but he gets right back up.
