no more so than my son. He's a Broncos fan and expected Nix to fail miserably.

I believe they are going to sign Wilson after the season. If they do they can draft a future starter and have him sit and learn from a one day HOFer.

    Howard would fit the bill.

I don’t know if it will be Howard but your scenario fits

Even if it takes until 2026

I said it in another thread, but a QB pick probably signals that we are more concerned with the future than winning now. It is certainly a punt on ever trying to win with Watt and Heyward. I guess its not entirely, but this team could be a high end DL a good RB, and a good WR2 away from being a real contender. If we are going the QB route, you probably go for the high ceiling pick in Milroe. He's the only guy in this class I think can be a top 5 NFL QB if everything shakes out for him. But he also has the highest chance of being garbage. risk/reward for sure.

They will still have Wilson. They might be able to get a 1st round QB where they pick. If not they can wait until 2026. They do need DL, 2nd or 3rd. A running back can be had later in the draft. A receiver with the 2nd or 3rd. Roman Wilson should be back and healthy.

I thought you might be from the Downingtown area where Howard grew up hoping to go to Penn State.

Nope. I have family in both the Pittsburgh and Philly areas but I have never lived north of Nashville.

I read an article on the Will Howard transfer to OSU from KSU and got intrigued to watch his season. I get that he has the weapons around him to succeed, but it's his decision making when he has options or the play breaks down that interests me more. I do not like that the vast majority of college football snaps are taken from shotgun and also wanted to see if Howard can get under Center.

Looking very forward to the upcoming playoffs.

I read (Fittipaldo, I think) they are going after Wilson tot the tune of 40 million per, for 4 years. He didn't say how much would be guaranteed.

Yikes. I HATE the 4 year term on that. I think we should see a little more of Wilson before pulling the trigger. He looked like a 40 million dollar QB for the first 2 games, he's looked like a fringe starter the last 3. That could be a disaster contract...

I do like the sentiment of going all in while we still have Watt and Minkah in their prime, but we need to get some more playmakers around him. Najee isn't cutting it at RB and the only WR that looks roster-able next season outside of Pickens is Austin....

He also is not ready for prime time. Does he have any eligibility left?

Then what made Ben a successful QB? All rookie QB's need at least some time to develop, even if they're a 1st round pick.

Even though the current staff is different from the 2000's, most of us wonder if the Steelers will ever return to the glory days...

I think Howard played most of that game with a concussion... Day is the one that isn't ready for the prime time. I am not sure that Howard is a capable NFL prospect, but I think the has some decent tools. He might be able to become one, but I think he projects as a quality back up for a Allen like player who can throw and run a bit.
