I don't like the rule, but if the QB is hit while in the process of throwing, it's really hard to say where he intended to throw. I wouldn't have called grounding there either.

And we're not going to complain about one bad call costing us the game when we did multiple things to lose it.

I don’t like this alternating at QB either. If you want to design some “Slash-type” plays or packages where Fields joins Wilson on the field for a gadget play or wildcat or even as a decoy, I’m all for it. But alternating wrecks whatever rhythm either one has and basically lets the defense key on the run when Fields is in and key on the pass when Wilson is in.

The old saying “if you have 2 Qb you have none” has been around for a long time because it’s true.

Tough loss. I liked the comeback in the weather conditions but that was the Browns Superbowl. They really wanted that game.

Losses happen and it was Thursday Night road game after playing the Ravens last weekend.

To be fair, if that call does go the other way, we are all probably talking about the Steelers winning despite a crappy effort last night.

That’s a good way to look at it: appreciate the comeback effort.

If they called PI on our ill conceived 3rd and 4 pass (which was enough for us to get called 9 times out of 10), the game is over there too.

We still lost the game by our own actions. We lost it. The Browns didn't win. We gave it away.

I have said something similar, but in a different way on a few threads. The Steelers deserved to lose, but there is also an argument to be made that poor officiating cost them the game. There were the holds on Winston's touchdown scramble. The pass interference they missed on Pickens before the half was egregious and on the throw from Fields should have been called. I can see why they didn't call that grounding on Winston, but I disagree with their decision. Those were all big calls, and some of them would have been enough to flip the result.

Here is a good look at both Herbig and Benton being held on Winston's touchdown scramble. No way he escapes that. Herbig was flying at him just as he did on the strip sack later.

As poorly as we played, we might have won with one good punt late in the game instead of a shagger IMO.

You can call that game how you like as in we played lousy and still had a chance to win (we are that good) or we are not that good losing to the lowly Browns.

I saw lack of interest by players until the latter part of the game and by then we were in jeopardy. Short week blues after a tough game against the Rats.

If we're going to blame a short week, we all might as well get drunk and forget there's a game on Christmas. ;)

Yes, let Chubb score. We had already wasted a timeout, so there was like 1:40ish left with first down and only one Steeler TO remaining. They could run a play and we would call a timeout leaving about 1:35 left. They run their second down play and run the clock to under a minute. They could then run their third down play and run the clock to under 20 seconds, call their TO and set up for a GW chip shot FG. We would take the KO, and have 15 seconds to gain 30 yards with no timeouts in order to get in range for a long FG attempt in the snow. Boz has been good, but that is not only a tough ask, it would take a miracle to even get in position to give him a shot. We would have a better chance at hoping their kicker misses the 25 yard FG than scoring after holding them...

I understand that the snow made it less than automatic, but we had to do a calculation on what would give us the best chance to win... What % chance do they have of missing the chip shot FG in the snow? 5% or less in all likelihood (and that is generous). What chance do we have of going 30+ yards in under 15 seconds with no timeouts. That is probably less than a 1% chance. AND then we have to make the kick on top of it. Based off a simple probability calculation, that gives us slightly over 5% chance of winning the game in that scenario. If we let them score and then take over on offense with 1:35 instead of :50 what chance do we have to score a TD? Is that % chance higher than 5%? I think that it is. They should have let Chubb score on the first down play and given ourselves the extra 40 seconds of time to win the game. Imagine having the ball at the 30 with 45 seconds instead of 5 seconds like we did... Does it mean we're going to score? No. Does it give us an astronomically higher chance to win? Yes.

Historically, road teams do not do well on short weeks, especially Thursday night games. It isn't just the Steelers. At least the Christmas Day game is at home.

Even a mediocre punt there probably wins it to be honest

Did anyone seriously believe this was a SB caliber team. With this head coach?

    There, fixed it for ya.
