I was listening to these 2 today and they think it's already a done deal, 13 million a year is the word, just waiting for 4:00 to make it official.

    Boomer & Carton........lol
    Helllllllllllloooooooooooooooooo lalala

I think Wallace is dumb if he signs right away.
He really stepped in it becoming a FA this year. With the recent events he could quite possibly could find himself in a bidding war between Miami,Minnesota and don't forget Cleveland has ALOT of $$ to spend and i think there could be a few sleeper teams....
It sickens me that this clown might just end up with Fitzgereld like he originally wanted....

Remember when they traded 18 players and draft picks to get Herschel Walker from Dallas in 89, talk about incompetence, at least Wallace didnt cost them that much...

(If true) It's also why Mike turned down whatever offer the Steelers made to him last year (I know some reporter said $10M, but I read later by someone else it was closer to $7M). People called him stupid, said he'd lose big time. He'll lose games alright, but not money.

I trust the Steelers FO when it comes to establishing a player's true value. If they offered him $7 million then as far as I'm concerned that's his true worth as an NFL receiver. Of course it seems the Vikings think he's worth almost double that (again, if substantiated) but realized or perceived value and true value may be two entirely different things and it so often is. I trust our FO more than the Vikes or Fins FO and the only front offices that I think are even close to ours when it comes to making rational personnel decisions are the Pats and Rats.

They paid Brown 40 mill, I didnt see 40 million worth of production out of him last year, and anyone that trusts this front office to make the right decisions has a short memory that we were 8-8 last year....

We were 8-8 because players underperformed and coaches made bad decisions. Of course our FO bears some of the blame but I'd put them up against any FO in football. We have been to 3 Super Bowls, winning 2, over the last 7 years. That's a pretty good indication that our FO knows how to evaluate talent. Which front office would you rather have if not ours? The Vikes? The Fins? The Skins? How about the Cowgirls?

And for the record, Brown's career is far from finished. I look for him to bounce back in 2013.

If the deal is done, isn't that tampering?

It wasn't 40 mil. for one season. For the length of the contract it is really $6,500,000 and was a very acceptable deal on both parties for his production last season. There's no crystal ball however to see how it pans out in the end.

The best part though is he out performed Wallace who was saying he's worth more.

Brown is > Wallace and brings more to the table for all around production.

I hope Mike gets paid and paid very very well, just not by the Steelers. He isn't worth the money he is seeking.

I love how one 8-8 season turns our FO from geniuses to fools.

Since "short memory" was brought up. I would say anyone who attributes our 8-8 season to a lousy front office has a VERY short memory!

They meant in principle, everything but signed on the dotted line. Teams were allowed to talk to agents for the last several days.

Mike Wallace is one of the premier playmakers in the NFL, so it makes sense that the Miami Dolphins are going all-in to acquire the wide receiver’s services. Last season, the Fins were one of only eight teams that failed to total 300 receptions, and were bottom three in the league with 13 touchdowns through the air.
According to Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post, Wallace to the Dolphins is now a “done deal,” even if the organization cannot officially sign the 26-year-old wide receiver until 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

Well will see....... Seems like he is wanted by a lot of teams for big money and here the Steelers are with a franchise QB and can't seem to get him even one big name reciever.

That's not correct. I am on my phone and cannot provide a link, but Google "NFL memo to teams" and read 3/8 article on the clarification the league issued Friday.

I heard several times this weekend that agents and teams could talk but teams and players couldn't. Just for like the last 4 days. Whole lot of people got their facts wrong if you are right!

They can talk, but they can't finalize deals - even unwritten. Will post link later, but I told you his to find article which includes the actual memo.

Yep, just read it, talk only, no oral or written promises or any commitments of any kind. Good luck to the NFL proving any oral agreements.

That was the other team Boomer and Carton said was battling the Vikes but they said Vikings were outbidding them. I see Wallace in Miami much more then I do in Minnesota.

Yeah, I remember last week they were saying on NFLN that the Vikings were the front runner, but I just never saw him anywhere but Miami. He's always going on about the Heat, and spends a lot of time there when he's not in Pittsburgh. It would seem that playing in Miami would be a dream come true for him.
