He wins one Superbowl and becomes the highest paid QB in the NFL???? SMH!!!! Plus I'm sick of this one SB win and you're all of a sudden an elite QB. STHU!!! Come back again and then we could talk.

Depending on how they structured the contract they might already be in cap hell.

We knew this day would eventually come and it is finally here. NFL contracts are now OFFICIALLY out of hand.

I think it's funny how Steelers fans rejoice in seeing the rats lock up the unibrow long-term for THAT kind of cash.

We were probably, as a whole, more frustrated with seeing Brady extended for much less money. At least I was. I just want Brady to go away. Flacco doesn't bother me at all. What'd they put on us this season in 120 minutes, 33 points? And 21 of those points were from special teams!

Yeah, please tell us? The reason we think it's worth rejoicing is the cap situation it put's them in. There's only so many ways you can break up $20 million a year! His cap number is going to fly through the roof!

He won't be the highest paid once Aaron Rodgers gets his new contract, but for now he probably deserves it.

I think the Ravens had no choice. If the ravens didn't throw a boat laid at him, someone else would have. Flacco is a good QB and by far their best option. They couldn't let him walk. And to his benefit (and the Steelers too) he played lights out on the big stage driving his value through the roof. IMO he's good but no where near that kind of dough.

In the long run, this could be a thorn in their side cap wise.

I meant that literally. I love that nobody in our fan base feels threatened by this move but, instead, embrace it. I don't think anybody here sees Flacco as a threat. In a move that generally would put fear into an opponents' fan base, we're rejoicing. :dancing:

Yeah, have to give him credit, he rolled the dice and turned down a good contract at the beginning of the year and it paid off. That's what happens when you have that kind of post season. He should send the Steelers a bottle of champagne for blowing so many games while his own team was in a free fall. Had they not made the playoffs, he wouldn't be sniffing this kind of money.

Now that I've had time to reflect on it he earned this contract in the postseason. He was solid throughout the playoffs and the Super Bowl, 11 TDs and 0 INTs. Quite frankly, his Super Bowl performance was better than any of Ben's three, with the possible exception of the one against the Cards.
