Steelers @ Colts Gameday Thread

It is my opinion that we really missed the mark not releasing Teryl Austin of his duties in favor of making Brian Flores the DC. I know hindsight is 20/20, but I think that would have been a pretty safe move.

 

True story.. I stopped watching with 6 minutes left I'm the game.

Sux to get beat again by freakin Flacco! That nightmare will not go! I never dreamed that in 2024 that we would still be losing games to his azz!

 

It was kind of a perfect storm of things going badly for the team in that game. Too much to overcome.

 

The Steelers got smacked in the mouth on both sides of the ball in the first half. They were at least a step slow on both offense and defense. Every opponent they have played has a 2-2 record, as does their next opponent. If this team is going to be competitive, they need to not make mistakes on offense - penalties and turnovers, and on defense stop the run and get to the QB, including blitzing, if the pass rush isn't effective. The secondary proved today that they are below the line without a pass rush.

As always. If You turn the ball over it makes it way harder to win. We had two, and 3 if You count going for it on 4th down early in the game.....which was a easy 3 for them. Yet we lost by what???? 3.

 

Yup. That was a terrible decision by Tomlin. I get why he did it. He thought the game was getting away from them. It was still too early to try something like that, especially with the trouble they are having on the offensive line.

 

Exactly. It felt like a panic move that early in the game IMO.

I just want to say that Steelers fans showed up big time for this game. Heard many Colts fans say how impressed they were with how many of us were there.

 

I agree, this was a big wake up call.

 

And this happens, seemingly a few games each year, when it seems our preparation during the week, be it on the field or film, is way below not good enough. We saw it last season against Houston and Cleveland on the road. A lot of this is on the coaches

 

Has a 'Return of Michael Myers' ring to it.

I heard Flacco's Revenge was more terrifying though. Tis the season...
