If only a few of these runs/timely hits could have come before the 32,500 fans last night.....................

Just watched the replay of Arenado's HR and it's possible if Cruz was playing left field he could have snagged it just as he possibly could have in Sunday's loss to Philly. IDK. Just saying..........

60 games to go. Pirates at 52-50. Best since 2018.

No way of knowing how the other teams will fair. 6 are making Playoffs. Dodgers & Phillies are getting in. Our division is not a gimme for the Brewers just yet. 4 spots open. 90 wins they'd have to go 38-22. Tough putting all that pressure on the staff cause the lumber company is using soft wood. Maybe 85+ will get a Playoff spot. If somehow the bats have a productive last 2 months, 35-25?????

Brian Reynolds will be travelling with the club on road trip. Tweaked his back. Thankfully did not need him today.

A day off for Pirate fans to enjoy being over .500 this late in season. A rarity for sure. I doubt the A-hole owner is thinking of the trade deadline unless it's to dump a salary. The MFer does not have to break the bank. We absolutely have a pitching staff. Asking way to much for them to carry us the next 60 games. Bring up a few guys in the minors if he won't spend money. They have got to be an improvement over our below .200 hitters.

Hey bright side, I don't think we ever have been 50 games under .500 at this point of season. The Chicago White Sox are frigging 50 games under .500. I'll be following their attendance. I'm surprised the Oakland A's get any fans at game. If the Bucs were moving to Vegas I'd say goodbye forever. Actually thought the Pirates may have moved there a few years back.

Well, the Pirates sold a AAA outfielder to the Cubs today. That leaves a roster spot open at Indy, maybe Suwinski will be sent down, making room for an outfielder on the major league roster. I can hope…..
Not all that interested until they make a move of some kind. I check the score but usually don’t listen to or watch the game, and certainly don’t buy any tickets.

I understand the way you feel about this oft fledgling organization but even though I only spent my first 15 years in the Burgh, I'm still a homer for all things Pittsburgh sports including the Bucs, Steelers, Pens and Pitt FB and BB. I watch or listen every chance I get though I dropped Direct TV about 4 years ago along with MLB, Sunday Ticket and the Pittsburgh sports network. It was sweet to see the Bucs win 3 out of 4 over the free MLB.TV weekend. :drinks:

The frustration comes because the issues could easily be solved. The Pirates are a decent team right now. It wouldn’t have to be splash moves. Average hitting outfielders would bump the Pirates into the thick of things. And those players are available. They would not have to give up top prospects to get players like that. Someone needs to take the owner aside and say “We make moves. Sometimes they work out, sometimes they don’t. These are sunk costs, we need to eat it to help the team. If you get a halfway decent hitter or two, the attendance will go up. If you DO make a splash move, the attendance may jump up like when Pornstache pitches.”
They could even find two outfielders with large platoon differentials at the AAA level and stick them in center. I bet you they would outhit Taylor and Suwinski.
Note that Bae hit 360 with a .942 OPS at Indy. He hits left, like Suwinski. Why would they not give Suwinski’s at bats to Bae? You have one player who is not getting it done. You have another who might or might not. You already control him and don’t have to make a trade. It is idiocy.

I was 17 years and then off to Navy and settled with sister in South Jersey. They are in my blood even after trying a transfusion years ago. It didn't work. Where I live we get most the Steeler games. With technology you can see any sport team you want. Bucs usually are not worth it but glad I have it this season. Probably spend the 130 "bucs" next season only because of Skenes. I want to watch him his last season in a Buc uniform.

By the way your Pittsburgh Pirates are the free game of the day today at MLB.com. Good for you since it's 6:40, bad for me at 9:40.

Even out here in La La land I like to get the games over earlier so not fond of the 6:40pm start but will watch on my phone while pretending to watch Shogun on TV with my Lady. ;)

Bae called up, Stratton reactivated, Fleming released, and Reynolds on 3 day bereavement leave. All good moves but not happy Reynolds will be gone till Sunday.

Finally Mo, a move that was so obvious that even the pirates could figure out that it was obvious!
I thought Fleming was released some time ago.
Could Suwinski’s time on the Bucs’ roster be coming to an end? Maybe when Reynolds comes back?

Something popped in to my inbox saying that Rowdy Tellez took a pitch to the hand and had to exit the game. If he is gonna be out for any length of time, Seth Beer is at Indy. Large economy size left hand hitting first baseman, with an OPS over 1.
Or, if they want position flexibility, Jake Lamb is back with Indy. He is not hitting as well as Beer, but throws right handed (though he hits left) and has played third base in the past. I understand that he has had a shoulder injury that might mean he is no longer a third baseman, but I have not heard this explicitly stated.
Tough break for Rahdy, he was hitting on all cylinders at the plate.

Seth Beer is apparently also a corner outfield guy as well as a first baseman.
Bae is in the lineup tonight! Maybe Nutting reads my posts on this forum.
