I disagree to an extent. Going QB depends on what they could get in return for Fields. If they take Harrison Jr. and pair him with DJ Moore, that would be a solid passing attack. At what trade value does trading Fields make the Bears better without him, instead of drafting Harrison - top 5 pick, top 10 pick? Fields could be a Lamar Jackson-type QB with great WRs.

Or they trade out of #1 and get a haul. Those are the two options at #1.

People talk about who Mason has beat. Go look at the team that have checked out for the year that He has actually looked good against. In 3 years He has 40 passing tds, 30 ints, 14 rushing tds, 38 fumbles , and has a 10- 27 record. Again if I was Chicago.....I'd draft a Qb.

Not if He doesn't suck. Just because You can run doesn't mean You must. Look at CJ Stroud. He could take off running all the time, or Mahomes. They run to keep plays alive most of the time. I promise Wrs don't say it to reporters, but they hate when a Qb takes off. Now running around buying time to throw they love.

As a Buckeye fan, I can attest that Fields can do damage as a runner but Stroud isn't a natural runner. Now, part of that has to do with Stroud having special arm talent, so he is willing to stick around in a throwing position to try to make big plays that way (Mahomes is pretty similar). Someone like Jackson or Fields can make huge plays with their legs, so taking off for them is a much higher value proposition than to just stick around hoping for a shot at making that same play with their arm. Of course WR's hate when the QB takes off, it limits their targets haha its why despite being a good player not many WR's want to play with Lamar Jackson. There are only so many yards to go around in an offense and a running QB takes larger chunks of those with their legs and to the RB's.

Lamar Jackson doesn't suck, but its kinda all we hear you say about him (not necessarily suck, but that he is terribly overrated, which in my opinion isn't exactly true)

Very overrated. He has the number one scoring D, Number one D with turnovers, number 3 OL, 5 .....I repeat...5 wr that are 1st round draft picks......and even with having a awesome game in throwing 5 tds last week.....He's still 7th for Qbs in total tds.....yet with all that.....I'm supposed to believe He's dragging that team to wins, and is a MVP. You can buy the Hype, but I don't know many MVPs are supposedly the best player on their team.....Yet has games they have won this year when He never scored one td, and had turnovers in the same game. Seems to me if a Qb is the MVP, and supposedly dragging the team to the playoffs.....shouldn't they lose games that He has turnovers, and doesn't even score one point in????

The ravens have the second best scoring offense this season and overall in his career, the ravens have almost always been around 27-30 PPG with Jackson as QB....He is that good

Btw who is your pick for the MVP this year?

Lamar is also 4th in passing rating and if you combine the fact he is the leader rusher of the ravens and that the ravens are second in PPG and the best record in the NFL,Lamar deserve the MVP.Mark Andrews, his top target has been out in the last month but the ravens continue to score high number of PPG.If this is not Lamar the MVP,who is the MVP?

And lol,to your 5 first round pick at the WR....It mean nothing.Jalen Reagor must has been a all-time great WR if he has been drafted ahead of Justin Jefferson....Antonio Brown must has been bad on the field since he was a 6th round pick

You're just too desperate at this point since you look bad in it!

QB's get credit for the most when things are going good and take the most blame when things are bad. Just because he has a good defense, it doesn't make him overrated. The Ravens offense is 4th in total yards and 2nd in total PPG. That is in large part due to how well Lamar is playing. MVP awards aren't given to the best player in the league (Mahomes would win every year if that were the case) but to the player (generally QB) who is having the best year. It is hard to argue that Lamar doesn't deserve to be a big part of that conversation. Lamar brings more to the table than just his arm and passing stats. He wont ever lead the league in passing yards, but he doesn't have to in order to be one of the best QB's. He has the 4th best QBR among QB's and the 5th best passer rating, 6th best completion percentage among regular starters (same % as Mahomes). He has 24 TD's with an INT% that rivals taking care of the ball nearly on par with Pickett. All while adding another 821 yards and 5 scores rushing. He's had a great year. He should have a good shot at winning the MVP this year and it would be a deserving win with no one else really taking control of the award.

All that said. 6 Qbs have more TDs overall., and two Qbs have more overall yards. So try again. If people want to give Him credit, and a MVP for what His team is doing this year. Fine....then take away His MVP from the other time when He won it for most tds overall. You can just change the criteria. Hell Jimmy G, and A. Rodgers had better records than Lamar Jackson the 1st time He won it, but He actually earned the MVP the 1st time because He had the most over tds. This time He's not top overall at anything .

That's the point, its a culmination of a lot of things. It isn't the award for most yards, it isn't the award for most TD's, it is the Most Valuable Player. Which in itself is vague enough to have different interpretations... But a guy that is top 5-6 in nearly every statistical category as a QB and offense, playing for a team that will be the #1 seed and has the #1 record in the NFL (that has been dominating some of the other top teams in the league of late) has a REALLY good shot of winning. The criteria isn't always the same, but overall as a QB he has had one of the best (if not the best) seasons as a player and should be considered for the award. If he wins, it would be a deserving win (others may deserve to win it too, but only one can win).

LoL. Ok...I've already written a million times what every Qb has had that has ever won the MVP before, and guess what Lamar Jackson has none of that.
So in using Your brain... what does it tell You if the criteria that every other Qb has had before when winning the MVP Lamar Jackson doesn't have this Year????

Bears on the clock select Caleb Williams QB USC #1 overall.

Doesn’t matter how good anyone thinks Justin Fields is actually. Caleb Williams is the better choice moving forward.

Fields is entering year 4 of his 4yr contract. Team has 5th yr option, but then UFA. There have been zero talks of an extension to this point. Does anyone expect him to get extended this offseason?

Yards and TD's? Look at the previous MVP winners and see the criteria is all over the place.

    2022 - Mahomes - 1st in yards, 1st in TD's, 1st in team wins
    2021 - Rodgers - 11th in yards, 5th in TD's, 1st in team wins
    2020 - Rodgers - 9th in yards, 1st in TD's, 2nd in team wins
    2019 - Jackson - 7th in yards, 1st in TD's, 1st in team wins
    2018 - Mahomes - 2nd in yards, 1st in TD's, 2nd in team wins
    2017 - Tom Brady - 1st in yards, 3rd in TD's, 1st in team wins
    2016 - Matt Ryan - 2nd in yards, 2nd in TD's, 3rd in team wins

Being first in TD's and first in team wins appears to be the most consistent criteria. 3 out of the past 7 winners won without being 1st in exactly one of those categories. Only 1 won without being first in both. Yards appears to be a factor, but only 2 of the past 7 winners were the NFL total yards leader.

Lamar would be 3rd in total yards and 7th in total TD's and be 1st in team wins. That type of season wouldn't look completely out of place when compared to previous winners.

He wasn't 1st in team wins in 2019. No Qb I can find has ever been 7th in total tds. Ever.

13-2 with Lamar Jackson. See someone is always trying to up Lamar Jackson whether He plays, or not. LoL.
He won because He had the most overall Tds.
Again....No Qb I can find has ever won the MVP with the 7th most overall tds. Not ever. So they apparently are changing the criteria. It's cool. Just admit it. That's all. With Him not playing this week...that will probably even drop further.

He was. In 2019 Lamar had a record of 13-2 as a starter. Two other QB's (Garroppolo and Rodgers) went 13-3. The Ravens had the most team wins at 14-2 and Lamar had tied for the most wins as a starter with 13.

And yes, 7th in total yards would be lower than the last 7 winners (Rodgers being the lowest winner with 5th)... but its not completely out of line when he is also 3rd in total yards and 1st in team wins. Tua, Purdy, Dak, and Allen all have a good case too, but not so much so that Lamar shouldn't be a high consideration.

    Tua - 2nd in yards, 10th in TD's - 3rd in wins
    Purdy - 5th in yards, 5th in TD's - 2nd in wins
    Dak - 4th in yards, 3rd in TD's - 3rd in wins
    Allen - 6th in yards, 1st in TD's - 7th in wins
    Jackson - 3rd in yards, 7th in TD's - 1st in wins

The Ravens walloped the Dolphins and 49ers recently (and severely outplayed both QB's in those games), so I would assume Lamar is ahead of them both. Dak is actually a good option to win and you could make the argument that he could be just as good of an option (or better) than Lamar.... Allen has a shot too, but he has to have a big game against Miami and win the 2 seed. If the Bills lose and miss the playoffs, you can pretty much guarantee that he isn't going to win the award.

Its a 3 man race in my opinion Lamar, Dak, Josh Allen.
