Something I was talking with with friends...., and was wondering what others thought.
Edit: Canada is not involved in the equation. He would be gone in this idea....like He will be next year....although I don't know who the OC would be...in this little fantasy.
Also You only get either for 5 years.

Yes, no Canada, but all these bad coordinators are being hired or green-lighted by Tomlin. Tomlin has to go. Mahomes here with Tomlin and Canada would be Mahomes worst season yet. We'd be hearing comparisons to Russell Wilson.

Tomlin has to go if we're EVER going to win another playoff game, unless the AFC is so bad one year that a team with a losing record makes it...then Tomlin might eek out a 13-12 win, while being outgained by 100 yards.

The o-line that the chiefs had in the super bowl was not the same that they had during the entire season....The o-line had 2-3 injuries at the o-line position in the AFC title game in 2020,so they had a complete depleted offensive line in the super bowl!

This question makes me ask the question, What HoF coaches did not have a HoF QB in the SB era? Lombardi - Starr. Eubank - Namath. Stram - Dawson. McCaffrey - Unitas, So there is one HoF QB, but not coach. Landry - Staubach. Shula - Greise. Noll - Bradshaw. Madden - Stabler. Flores - Plunkett. Did Flores get in? If not, that is one duo. Walsh - Montana. Gibbs and his QBs. That is where the coach was a difference maker. Parcells - Simms/Hostettler. Another coach difference. Ditka - McMahon. Defense was the difference there. Johnson - Aikman. Seifert-Young. QB was difference. Seifert stunk in Carolina. Holmgren - Favre. Favre was more the reason. Shanahan - Elway. Terrell Davis was the reason. Vermeil - Warner. Warner's development in the Arena league was key, but Martz recognized Warner's incredible accuracy. Billick - Dilfer - Defense. Gruden - Gannon. Gruden there. Brady > Belichick. Cowher - Roethlisberger. Tomlin - Roethlisberger. Has to go to QB. Payton - Brees? I can't even think of who was Rodgers HC when they beat the Steelers. Eli Manning - Coughlin? Carroll-Wilson? Manning - Dungy. Manning - Von Miller. McVay - StafFord. Mahomes - Reid? Overall, it looks like coaches make a difference w/o HoF QBs, but Shula didn't win with Marino. Levy didn't win with Kelly.

In this league a generational talent at QB is what matters the most. He’s the coach on the field for the O.

So You had what 3 coaches without a HOF Qb, and none since the 80s. Am I correct on that???

Players win or lose games. Not coaches.

It is a fact that turnovers and penalties lose more games than anything else.

I vote for Mahomes hands down. Reid had McNabb in Philly and never won a SB.

I take Mahomes too but Reid has still been in the NFC title game 5 times with McNabb,so even if he did not win a single super bowl, his resume was still very solid without Mahomes....And Reid and the chiefs organization deserve so much credit to just have Mahomes on their team(they trade up from 28 to 10 in 2017 to have the chance to have Mahomes) and develop him to his maximum potential

To a degree, it's all a crapshoot. KC ot lucky hitting on Mahomes, we got lucky hitting on Big Ben. How many "sure thing" QBs were Miserable misses?

Gruden never won with Gannon. He won in Tampa Bay with Brad Johnson or of course because of the defense!

Harbaugh won the super bowl with Flacco...Flacco had one of the best playoffs run by a QB ever in 2012 and Doug Peterson won with Nick Foles in 2017.For the giants,in 2011,it was because of Eli Manning but 2007 was a complete team effort.Eli Manning was awful by moment in the regular season..He was much better in the playoffs but it was still a team effort. The pats in 2001 to 2004,even if Brady was good,it was more about Belichick and his defense....The 2014 to 2018 period was more about Brady

Overall, the QB position is the most important position but head coach is second....Coaching matter big time in the NFL too!
