Is this a lament or a statement of fact? I can understand the former and sympathize while the latter is not true, there were games this weekend that featured teams using lead blockers.

 

I'm not sure, but I believe He meant they hardly use a lead blocker.

 

I know the spread offense has made it a devalued skill but it is one that's hard to learn and so valuable if you have it.



This was the 116th meeting of the two biggest schools in ND this past Saturday and you could see UND winning in the trenches, and creating holes with lead blockers as well as selling fakes really well. The nail in the Coffin play the lead blocker seals off the leftside and NDSU thinks the run is going that way, but he makes a cut back and is gone to the house.

 

A lot of terrible D play by NDS in that video, and a terrible decision By their Qb earlier in that game.

We've won exactly 3 playoff games in the last decade. We have won zero playoff games in the last 6 years, giving up 40+ points in the last THREE playoff games we were involved in:

L - 2017, 42-45 Jags
L - 2020, 37-49 Browns
L - 2021, 21-42 Chiefs

Those 3 games were our most-recent in playoff, franchise history. Our "vaunted" defense, headed by defensive coach Mike Tomlin, gave up 45, 49 and 42 points. But somehow our head coach is still widely celebrated as a top 3 NFL head coach. I guess all you need to accomplish is "non-losing" seasons. The last playoff game we won was in the 2016 season where we beat KC 18-16.

Steelers are clinging to their past and pride themselves on consistency. Well they are consistently average for a decade congratulations! He’s not even top 3 in his own division their whole system is flawed trying to win with defensive when the entire NFL is offense. Maybe one day years down the road the NFL will turn to running and defense until then Steelers are stuck. What’s ironic is except for some crazy turnovers which is great for us the defense is horrible
