For those of us slightly concerned about the Jones pick not being a sudden success, I think we can now relax. In week 5 he did solid in his 1st start of his career.

As far as our 2nd pick, JPJ, I'll admit I was slightly concerned about his lack of ints in his college career (having a total of 1 pick at PSU). All he did last week was basically win the game with a timely int in the endzone while covering OBJ.

And Benton has been nothing but steel, baby. Thank God Kahn/Weidl had the wisdom to draft this D lineman when they did. With Cam's injury, we'd be really up s--t creek without him. We really needed a shot of youth on the DL.

Oddly enough, we need a repeat at all 3 spots next draft (we need another OLman - center, another CB and another DLman). But thank God we got the 1st three picks we got in the last draft. We desperately needed all 3 to be hits and it looks like they all are. :steelflag:

Don't forget a guy like Herbig that looks like he is already a competent OLB with real ability and upside. Washington is very raw, but he is getting playing time as well.

Drafting that many productive players at multiple positions will allow them to really focus on positions of need in next year's draft.

Yes, I knew Herbig could be mentioned as one of the draft picks who already seems like a hit, but I held off on mentioning him because I wanted to just focus on the big 3, who ALL look like "proven" hits already. One could argue Herbig seems like a likely hit but I am just waiting on some more live action on him. Some could argue that Washington and even Anderson seem like good draft picks as well, but I wanted to just focus on those who seemed "proven" already.

They say TE is one of the most difficult transitions from college to NFL, and Washington seems to be going through some of that. I never expected him to "light the world on fire" this year to begin with, as some fans did. He's huge and physically talented, but is raw and it shows. He's gonna need some more time to marinate.

Anderson seems like a great late round pick with lots of diversity on the OL, which we need. And, of course, Trice could have been a steal of a pick but got injured. So, right now, by most early measures, it seemed like a fantastic draft.
