Sorry but he can't get play for Harris. 70% if his plays are trash. Heck even went for a victory formation to leaving ravens time on the clock. And much more.

Kenny is not great. But he is good. But Canada will make him look worse.

I fear That if we keep Canada this season will be a fail and we won't know what Kenny can do.

Why not go ahead and find out. Because next year QB is deep.

Initially I wanted Canada fired after the game. Since it was a win, I say wait until Tuesday. Seriously though, it has not changed my mind. We were lucky to get the win and only from the help of the defense. Matt Canda needs fired now. Give us time to adjust over the bye week.

Canada watching the TD pass with a "What the hell is happening?" look on his face was pretty telling.

    Even he expects failure.

Canada stays. Not like it wasn't going to happen anyways.

Just want to savor this win. Ribeye is going to taste much better after this win...

Canada still has to go, guys. He’s had nearly three seasons to show what he can do and has failed miserably. I’m sure Tomlin will opt to retain him for continuity’s sake or something to that effect, but it’s not like the offense is improving. In fact, they continue to regress so I don’t think letting Canada go will be detrimental to anyone’s development.

"Good" seems like a bit too strong of a word...but he's at least given me some reason to be just ever so slightly more cautiously optimistic.

There's nothing I could say to convince you that Canada should stay, because there's no argument to be made in that regard. Dude needed to be gone after the bye, but the convincing nature of that last TD drive probably ensured that he'll survive until the end of the season - sadly.

From the look on Canada’s face in the booth I don’t think he called the play, Kenny must of called it himself.

Just think what we might have if we had a competent OC/ play caller
And run game? He must go the sooner the better.

I was thinking the same thing. He couldn't believe that a play he called resulted in a TD

That was the 1 good play call Canada had today. Ravens were playing run all the way which lead to man to man coverage, thus Pickens TD.

Any chance Kenny changed that play? That would be something and probably the killing stroke on Canada’s career here.

    Cananda sucks.

we have limited weapons on offense. (njuries to DJ and Frierm.) Not sure Kenny is any good either.

Najee has no future here. Love Warren.

    Offense BLOWS.

Nice to get a win today

Matt Canada is the kind of guy we all hope our daughters go to prom with since he obviously doesn't have any plans to score.

For me, he is as good as gone. Same goes for Austin and potentially even Tomlin. Remember everyone, all three of their contracts expire after this season. Furthermore, this is a new regime spearheaded by Kahn and Weidl. While both men have great respect for Tomlin (Omar for all he has done), I would imagine that both men want to put their own stamp on this team. Never mind them though, again, a reminder that Tomlin didn't get his Contract extended as he usually does within the month of July; something that has never happened.

Perhaps AR II has seen enough as well. Now, it clearly is not a guarantee to say all three are 100% gone but thus far, too many coincidences are adding up here; doubly so in Canada's case. Mike Sullivan and Glen Thomas have had experience calling Offensive plays before and it wouldn't shock me if Sully or Thomas take over post the bye week. Regarding Teryl Austin, is he really the one calling the plays?! Mike Tomlin took over play calling duties during the 2020 Season and there is no reason to assume he may not have done so again.

    Overall, I do agree with everyone that he should be gone. However, as I have been saying since the beginning of the Off Season, the only way to fully remove Matt Canada from play calling is the following;

1.) Promote Mike Sullivan as the unofficial Offensive Coordinator via increased role in Offensive Game Planning during the bye week. He has had experience in this before and I would imagine he can do so again.

2.) Keep Matt Canada on the staff as an Offensive Coordinator but in name only. Butler was basically this very same aspect during the 2020 Season. It can be safe to say that the Steelers could utilize something like this again.

Problem gets solved for the rest of the 2023 Season. Once the season is over, Canada will be ousted once and for all. However, something major must happen following this; AR II, Omar Kahn and Andy Weidl all must relinquish the hiring process of OCs from Mike Tomlin and place that responsibility between the three of them. Sheldon White, the Steelers Director of Pro Scouting (Director of Pro Scouting vs Director of College Scouting are two different things!) can also assist here for this can be within his expertise as well. Get an actual OC to call the Offense.

I thought the same thing it was like he got shocked and came out of his 3 year comatose state.

    .......

Perhaps my suggestion of Sullivan or Thomas calling plays has already happened?! :hmm:

Usually an OC is upbeat with the rest of the staff whenever his team scores. Not Canada! Perhaps Mike Tomlin must have done something at half time?!

I mean... the timing of that would line up with some of the more success the Offense had... even though the term "success" should be used loosely in this instance from what I had read on Twitter and other Social Networks.

Tomlin's contract doesn't expire after this season, not until after the 2024 season.

I never understood the thinking of keeping or firing a guy with absolute failure in his tenure, then giving him a pass on a win..that was still absolute failure on his part. have no idea if they were even considering some change, but today's final W outcome would not make me decide to keep him, we got the W, but Baltimore gave us the victory.
