David Carr was the quarterback who was ruined playing for the Texans. He took an insane beating. He is now an analyst.

Derek Carr was the Raiders' quarterback who missed a playoff game after being injured in a contest the team didn't need. He now plays for the Saints.

Never understood how sitting out would improve confidence. Confidence primarily comes from success. He needs play designs and execution that helps him succeed. Pundits always say things like "he needs some plays that are easy throws to get his confidence up". I never quite see that with our current receivers and play design. Lots of third and long, "Tight windows" and "Combat catches", but where are the open receivers in the flat or in a hole in the zone? Play design or can our receivers not get open? A good run game would help build his confidence, too.

Play the man if he is healthy.

This is a winner! I have been suggesting this for weeks ! KFP is so rattled right now, not possible to improve on field. Watch and learn from sidelines. Study opposing defenses. No way are you going to learn playing in the fire! Take one step back to take 2 steps forward!
Others on here stated it will ruin him to sit?!? WTF is playing him right now doing?!

Really? Have you ever played team sports? KFP is so rattled right now behind center he cant see straight!
How in Gods green earth do you expect him to gain confidence like that?
Quit putting 100% of the blame on OC, KFP making a lot of bad decisions on his own. And yes, the OC sucks, but way more than that with this offense!

This 100%. Also how about the last 5 years of His play. Not good....not any of it. Yet some will say it will prove something. What will it prove.....other than what most already know....Trubisky is not very good. 1 good year out of 7 years = not very good.

You are correct, our offense did score multiple (2) touchdowns against the Raiders. Although, I personally wouldn't consider that an achievement.

Actually, to be factually correct, our offense is averaging 12 points per game. It would be 15.5ppg if we included the 2 touchdowns scored by the defense.

I'd say we aren't just playing poorly, we're historically bad.

I've never said He was great. Not one time, and You know this. If You can provide where I have .....I will apologize. He doesn't have to be great to be better than what we have seen, and You know this. He could just be ok.

Yes....He was one of about a hundred Qbs that has had one great season, and never seen the same success again.

Sitting doesn't improve confidence so much as it takes some pressure off and allows him to get some perspective. He seems to need it, to need a reset. Also, playing with his mobility limited by the injury. If anything, that might make him even more conscious of protecting himself, which seems to be part of the issue. Better to let him reset, get healthy, and try to start fresh after the bye.

Ok… how many times did you say “if Trubisky is so great…” to people who simply said he was the best of the options available? I know you did that to me more than once. So enjoy :thumbs up:

I agree with that. The point has more weight when we get the numbers right.

Where does that say....Mason is Great???
You are reading into that what You want to hear. I have never said Mason was great. I have said Mason is better than Trubisky. We've seen Trubisky with 4 different OCs, and 4 Different HCs, and yet He has actually looked good for one year out of 7. Hell I have heard people say He looked kinda good with the Bills....well if You call 0tds, and 1int good in the limited time He was with them good:shrug:.
There is only one Qb on this team....that on this team has more Td than Ints. You know this, I know this, and so does everyone else, but some are more afraid of being wrong. I know the OC sucks, but so has our Qbs play, and low ,and behold when Trubisky came into the game on like His 2, or 3rd pass ....bam ...should have been int. You don't have to be great to be better than what We've seen most of the time so far by out Qb play.
I'm not saying make Rudolph the full time starter. I'm saying give someone with a different skill set the opportunity. Trubisky in his very best year was still one of the worst Qb passing down field.

If Pickett plays Ravens will go after his knee.

Then punch him in the face.

There isn't a schoolbook solution, and your point is a good one that may be the way things go. I just think if he is capable, physically, he should be a go. Need to find out what the boundaries are with him. This will not be the only time he will face pressure and adversity in his career, and he won't be able to just watch and learn down the road. Since my opinion is equal to naval lint to the Steelers, I'll go with whatever they think is best for the team, preferably a win. JMO>

I know the guy wasn't born when Marino was playing but I'm sure he knows the story of the Steelers passing on a Pitt QB who turned out to be awesome in NFL. I wonder if he feels added pressure because of this??

Reminds me a little of the son of Jack Nicholas. He made the PGA tour. Closest he came to winning was a Playoff with Phil M. He didn't last long on the Tour but made a comment that the media pressure was rough on him. I loved what he said about it. Something like, I'm Jack's son so I should have 18 majors in 4 and a half years.

Btw, Steelers shouldn’t have never ever been in that frame of mind, actually thinking KFP was another Marino going into that draft.

No, but I don't think he would throw 3 interceptions against the Ravens again.

So would You put money on a new Qb coach, and OC, and KFP will be great from then on, or just a little bit better like most Qbs that are not so great when they get new coaching ....that last for about a year till everyone catches on???

I don't know why it's so hard to admit the Qb is just not playing good right now. Why must it be everyone else's fault???
If thats the way it is for drafting from Pitt, or Penn state......I hope they never draft a Qb from there again.

I’ve never seen it, but…could there be value in sitting up in the box with the OC? He’d see the entire field and get to work more closely with his coordinator. Just spitballing.
