The tackle by Minkah if you even call it a tackle was a joke a call. What is he supposed to do? James Harrison talked about how he is teaching his sons to tackle vs the coaches which say turn your head, he said that is how you separate your shoulder, you must see what you hit which protects your body as well.

The 3rd down they converted to seal the game was huge. That was a nice play and set it up well. Funny enough he took advantage of his own predictability there, they usually run out of that formation.

Its the new NFL.. throw flags for roughing ask questions later.

Imagine if Cole Holcomb's flag didn't get picked up.

Fitzpatrick got screwed. But I he smashed him at 100% speed, its almost like he go flagged for hitting too hard.

I actually thought he slightly held up vs driving through the tackle which 3 years ago would have happened easily. His expression after the flag was like "I don't know what to do". I also think the noise around the Chubb hit, drew that flag as well. Like when Harrison began to be targeted. On the replay from behind the QB that ref was staring right at the play and didn't throw the flag so who did? If he had tackled with the mindset of separating the player from the ball, Jimmy G wasn't getting up". He sold it by staying on the ground and playing it up, like the puss soccer players do.

Najee returned back to his norm: less than 4 ypc. (65 yds, 3.42 ypc). Nothing has changed, still hesitates too much approaching the hole (or where is was supposed to be). This still isn't Alabama playing KY, it's the Pgh OL playing NFL teams, i.e. no monster holes to be found. Najee isn't worthless, he's just not worthy of a 1st round draft pick.

Pickett had a two TD passing game, which is pretty rare. (16/28, 8.3 yds per attempt, 235 2TDs). Like many have said, it seems more of a product of playing a lesser D than KP actually improving. He still looked a little too hesitant, not in a flow.

It was GREAT to see Austin get off and use that 4.2 40 speed. That is hopefully a sign of things to come. Much needed.

I'm almost feeling sorry for Canada at this point. Even when he wins he gets ripped, and every time they show him in the booth it looks like he's about to have a stroke. Then again, maybe if we keep on him enough we can push him over the edge to a nervous breakdown and get rid of him that way.

Regarding the refs, yeah, they seemed to be focused on us this game, but at least they cancelled a couple calls that would have hurt. That plus Joey got away with a key one last game IMO. I`m feeling like we got a fair shake from the refs so far averaging out the first 3 games.

WOW, McDaniels. I was so happy they didn`t go for a TD.

that's how he has set those plays up. he did it last year too. he used formations we normally do certain things out of and then changed it up. genius. :smiley1::cool:

As I said elsewhere, that penalty actually helped the Steelers in that the Raiders ran more time off the clock but still had to resort to a FG. And at the end, the Raiders had no time to drive down the field. At least that's how I recall it.

11.) Pittsburgh needs to seriously consider giving Broderick Jones some time. This repeated ass beating that both Moore and Chuks are taking isn't doing Kenny any favors. If not against Houston, address it during the Bye Week! :herewego:

Some of you guys keep saying about how Warren looks better but he wasn't gaining any yards rushing either.

Now list Warren rushing stats from the Raiders game, some of you fans are clueless if you expect Najee to be successful with 9-10 defenders in the box.

Once the 'dances too much' accusation has been levelled, Steeler RBs are done for in the eyes of some of the fanbase.

I didn't see it against the Raiders. There was one particular play where he missed a massive hole to cut into, but aside from that he was just running into a brick wall. And as you say, Warren didn't fair much better.

When Najee runs straight ahead like Warren he looks better, too. Obviously when he’s being met in the backfield as soon as he gets the ball he can’t do much with that but there are plays to be had where he’d be better suited just going forward and less bouncy.

Now on the play below, maybe he goes no where if he runs through this “hole” (don’t know if I agree with the OP here on the use of “hole”) but it was definitely where he should have attacked. He’s a big freaking guy, maybe he blows through that. And even if he got tackled at the point of contact it’s still more yards than he got trying to bounce outside.

But better blocking overall like below would obviously go a long way to fixing the ground game.

I would like to see Pickett roll out more often, and use more play action.
Carney is just looking for something to complain about IMO, I fail to see some big hole opening in that first video.

Agreed, but being they are both young players....I couldn't tell you which one made the mistake. In all reality no matter who made the mistake....it would look the same.
Most are just picking who they hope was making the mistake, but like I said....it would look the same, and unless someone says. Your guess is as good as mine as too which one was wrong..

ill take 9 or 10 wins if it means sneaking into the playoffs. It’s an improvement over last year. Can’t expect anymore from this young team.
