Canada called the same pass play 8 times in 9ers game?

and the defense let the other team do the same thing!?!?!?!?!?

I’m not disputing that Kenny missed throws he shouldn’t have missed. We agree fully on that point. He didn’t play well at all and I’m beginning to believe there may be some credibility to the speculation that him hitting his head on the turf affected his play. He may not have been concussed, but he did seem to be rattled. Where we’ll have to agree to disagree is that Canada had a sufficient gameplan dialed up for the Niners. IMHO, he did not.

What agenda, Blast? That Canada is a sucky OC? That’s not an agenda, that’s a FACT.

I get that but watching a lot of the QB coaches and one thing they say is when you're looking at tape is that there may be a guy that looks open, but there's not a lane for you to throw it through.

I'm hoping Warner does a breakdown. He's the one I really like to watch with these things.

Again you keep conflating two different things. At this point I’m just wasting TTFs bandwidth repeating that STD and I think Canada is a bad OC.

    But, whatever.

I think larger problem was Kenny's inability to make the correct read as well as missing wide open throws.

That sounds about right. Canada was a problem, not the problem. I don't think there was one problem. Pickett was terrible. The offensive line wasn't good. The game plan wasn't good. The panicked decision to abandon the run wasn't good. The worst part is the that Johnson was the bright spot and they are going to be without him for a while.

I get that you two think Canada is a bad OC so I’m not arguing that point at all. But I do disagree that just because a couple of receivers broke open and Kenny missed them that Canada somehow must have had a good gameplan in place against the Niners and Kenny just screwed it up with his slow reads and inaccurate throws. He definitely played below the line, that’s for sure. I could maybe give Canada the benefit of the doubt if it weren’t for his crappy track record as an NFL OC. The next effective gameplan he comes up with will be his first.

Yes, lot of wrong reads. His first interception to DJ was a bad read. He also missed a wide open Austin streaking across the middle of the field as well which likely would have been a TD. I can forgive him that one though because there was pressure up the middle immediately that flushed him right while Austin was going left across the middle.

The point being though, there were plenty of plays to be had that could have changed the outcome of the game. Thats not the OC’s fault.

I can somewhat accept the argument they gave up on the run too quickly but what would have come from that, 49ers shut everyone’s running game down and the way they were manhandling our line there would have been no positive outcome from continuing to run. They needed to start hitting some plays down field to get them to back off stacking the box and the Steelers weren’t capable of doing that. Not just Kenny but all of them because they couldn't execute for ****.

If you watch the All 22 you’ll see a lot of plays were missed, lot of plays left on the field that could have made a difference. Wasn’t just poor throws it was missed opportunities all together. Kenny had a really all around awful game, can’t be understated. He wasn’t alone, whole team played poorly on both sides of the ball.

I hope he is on a short leash. As I have said in other threads, there is a knack for play calling
and he hasn't showed me he has the knack.

This is true but...a lot of people don't know what they're looking at. I can't tell you the number of times that I've seen people here post screen shots of WRs who are "open" because they are looking the instant AFTER the ball is thrown and the DBs have reacted by going toward the ball. They don't realize that the instant that the ball leaves the QBs hand, the DBs have abandoned their man and are going after the WR giving the appearance of being "open."

I'll give blame to all 3: Kenny missing throws, the OL not playing above the line and Canada not really calling effective plays

And I used to work with a guy named John Wilson from Canada. Do you know him?

I would add as well that when we see a WR is open does not mean QB has a clear shot. We would need to see defenders proximity to QB .. Bottom line we would need to see behind at eye level what Kenny sees in front of him.

I don't believe this. The Steelers should had never won one game if "it's a problem on both sides of the ball". My educated mind suggest you are a "dumb" fan.

Ohhhh John Wilson! He's a good guy.

You can also add Friermuth and his bad blocking.

It was really insult to injury. We were beaten badly and then lost key guys on either side of the ball.

First play of the game Noll would run Franco up the middle and everyone knew it

Noll’s answer was if it works there is no reason to run any other play
