many of us saw this above coming. it's personnel + COACHING!! more here are finally starting to see our coaching is below the line.

prob is Rooney does not care - he sees it and does not care.

Here we go with this nonsense again. You can't come close to supporting that assertion about Rooney. Just because he doesn't respond the way you would like does not mean he does not care. Acting as if you can read his mind and know he doesn't care is just pointless whining.

1st time is what You make of it. I played with a guy in a band that never had time to get songs down...yet He worked part time....while the bass player, and I worked 10 hour shifts 6 days a week. Time is what You do with it.
I never said I watch every game . I said I watch every game available when the Steelers aren't playing. You do know that they play replays, and that I use to watch 4-8 games at a time before this Year on DirecTV when the Steelers weren't playing. I watch about 8 games a year out of almost every team in the SEC, Michigan, Ohio state,, USC, ND, and Oklahoma. No I don't watch every college team, and I've said that about certain picks...that I've never watched them play. As for the NFL I've not missed a Steeler game since 1997 up till maybe later this year, but I will be watching the replays.....because they show the real game of a player....not highlights. I'm sorry instead of watching movies ,or shows during football season....I watch football instead. Since football started....I haven't watched anything else. When football is over....I will watch other things. You do You, and I will do Me.
Big 10, SEC, NFL Network, and many other channels show last week's replays of games all week long.

So you've concluded we are not good and the niners are really good? I guess there's some disagreements on how good we really are.

Well coached defenses don't seem to ever need time to gel. We've been needing time to gel for years now.

Where did you get that out of what he said?

Really? The defense had a rough go of it in 2021, but here are their yards/points allowed rankings each of the past six years:

    2017: 5th/7th
    2018: 7th/17th
    2019: 5th/6th
    2020: 3rd/3rd
    2021: 24th/20th
    2022: 13th/10th

Is it a mere coincidence that our failure at ILB happens to coincide with us not having a legit NT in the same time period? I dunno, just asking.

You say you watch every game a lot but whatever. Little advice, if you don’t want people to swing back at you don’t pick a fight.

That was the worst game I have seen Allen play in, why you felt the need to attack me over that I have no idea but I was right, he had 5 turnovers that game and I believe 4 was his max before that.

Like I said, it was the worst game I ever saw him play.

Your idea, and My idea of picking fights is wayyyyyyyy different. LoL Yes I watch every Steelers game, and every Razorback game. I also watch the others like I said. I also watch every Chicago game....unless the Steelers are playing....then I watch the replay. I also watch everything I said in the 1st comment. I also watch the replays of all out conference teams. I watched 2 games since I commented earlier. That ok???

Allen looked so bad because the Jets played great and new how to defend him Allen would torch the Steelers for 500 yds the 49ers could have put up 60 but they were tired and begging us to just get a first down.

Let's see how 49ers offense does vs. Rams this week. I have a feeling, they are going to torch the Rams D too. I'm hoping the 49ers are a juggernaut and the Steelers had a bad day at the office.

Well, that may be true (in that there are people criticizing Tomlin on this board) but there are still an awful lot of folks wandering around aimlessly, looking for answers on how to fix things (new OC, new DC, new QB) without considering the ONE consistent piece in amidst all of the troubles: the head coach. For many, he always gets a pass on all the turmoil and dysfunction, for some odd reason. And he's the "head man."

Saying your offense needs time to gel is saying they are not good. If they were good they would not need time to gel (as you put it). If we were an offensive powerhouse the last year or two ....I'd accept the idea we just need some time to gel ....we're a good offense that was just not on the same page. This is an offense that was horrific last 2 or 3 years.... and again n week 1. Tell me how them "needing time to gel" isn't saying they're stil not good?

I don't know that it is giving him a pass so much as understanding that it isn't all him and he isn't going anywhere until he wants to go.

I bet it's close because it a divisional opponent. Like most divisional games are. They know each other.

Look, you're conflating arguments here. You quoted a guy who was talking about the allowing some of the new faces on defense more than one game before we brand them as 'sucking'. You responded by saying he was already labeling the Steelers as 'not good' and that 'we've been needing time to gel for years now'. Now you're saying I put it that way.

I think you're responding to a different argument you've got in your head.

I would not go as far as to say "Art does not care." I'd say it's more along the lines of "Eh, we're good enough." If it gets the the point of fan support to start impacting his bottom line, THEN he will all-of-a-sudden care. Until then, he doesn't care enough to do moves that make him uncomfortable. It's much less stressful to just stay status quo. The man is on record saying firing coaches is too much trouble because it requires someone having to move their family to the area. Too much stress for Art.

The Rams - 49ers game will be the first one in NFL history that has a former #1 overall draft pick (Stafford) facing off against the last pick in the draft (Purdy).

    That's kinda cool.
Just to make Myself feel better.....I hope the 49ers beat the $hit out of them, but they usually play a close game like most division games are.

Do you think he only cares about the bottom line? Who do you think owns the Steelers? Bob Nutting?

Perhaps read what I bothered to write and you will find an answer.
