    This is a masterpiece.
The last SuperBowl the Super Steelers won before most of us became men.

    Happy Birthday to Bradshaw.

Bradshaw had his finest season in 1978 when he was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player (MVP) by the Associated Press after a season in which he completed 207 of 368 passes for 2,915 yards and a league-leading 28 touchdown passes. He was also named All-Pro and All-AFC that year, despite throwing 20 interceptions.

I still say that if you give me one quarterback to win one Super Bowl, I’m taking Terry Bradshaw! He was clutch in the biggest moments of the biggest games. No dink and dunk. He was firing 40 and 50 yard missiles to win the biggest game when the game was on the line. He is the original TB12 and the greatest clutch QB in Super Bowl history!

I still have stickers that say that. Seems your city has to hold two titles to say that. We did it with Steelers and Penguins in 09. I remember when Eagles and Villanova or Phillies and Villanova won same year and Philly started saying it. I said hold on, it's got to be 2 pro teams.

I think Tampa Bay, of all cities, had two and if Rays won the WS they'd have had 3 in one year.

Just watched this a couple of days ago. :drinks:

Wasn't born sadly during that time but the documentary of America's Game: The 1979 Steelers is one of my all time favorites. Could listen to Johnny B. for days and it would still never get old! :steelflag:

A fact check shows Bradshaw 6'3" while Stargell was 6'2". I am not saying you are incorrect, because Stargell looks taller, but it could be the angle of the photo.

The way Stargell swung that bat around at the plate he may have hit his head enough to have shrunk it an inch.:)

I was at a game where the pitcher threw the ball behind Willie but the way he had his bat so far back the ball hit it for a foul strike. His reaction was priceless. I still think of it today.

@steel machine@steel machine Are you popping a cork on a bottle of champagne, like the '72 Dolphins, for the Pirates not losing a 100 games?

The Pirate message board actually had a countdown to clinch thread. And it sure wasn't for a Playoff berth.

Nothing better than going to school on Monday in the 70's!! I grew up in Erie so we had Browns, Bills and Steelers fans but we dominated!! Loved every minute of that, but we paid for it in the 80's drought.

Guess what, they have started another magic number thread for a 90 lose season. As of this post BUCS have 25 games left but most are against money teams. Only team under .500 they play are the Nats. I can't see them going 10-15 with the remaining schedule.

Yea, those are the correct published stats, but Willie sure looks bigger in that pic.
