That's a pretty solid list. I might put Canada at #1 and add Joey Jr. to the list instead of Johnson.

I read it top to bottom and was about to go crazy on it but now I got it. Interesting two guys on there that won't play a down but will control so much. TJ maybe should be #1, only because I think we have a good record when he plays and not so good when he is injured.

We have a damn good core. As Kenny goes so goes the Steelers.

The two most important words for the 2023 season: NO INJURIES!!!!! Actually, that would be impossible so how about key guys miss a game or two at most.

I dunno, I think Johnson’s lack of TD productivity last season had quite an impact. He has to do better this year.

    1. Kenny Pickett (cause he cannot have a sophmore slump and the next decade counts on him being the real deal)
    2. Matt Canada (only because if he doesn't massively improve we waste a year)
    3. Broderick Jones (if he turns into a bust, the line falls apart)
    4. TJ- has to stay healthy
    5. Boswell- needs to come out strong early, return to form
    6. Cole Holecomb- we need the ILB position to be improved immediately
    7. Najee Harris - stay healthy and chew up yards, don't leave Kenny in 3rd and long!!
    8. George Pickens - Become the man but don't become Antonio #2 PLEASE!!
    9. Joey Porter - Be a gym rat and become a dominant corner so we won't fear drafting a corner high again when needed in the future.
    10. Keeanu Benton - We need to desperately improve the interior of our defense and if he can be even remotely the big snack #2, our pressure on QB's and run stopping will improve.

Honorable mention - Terryl Austin - if he doesn't get schemes in place to allow our defense to put pressure on the QB's early and often it will be a long season. TJ can't do it all.

I got 3 in no particular order.

Kenny Pickett, Matt Canada, Mike Tomlin. If any of them brain cramp through the season it will be another middle round draft pick for 2024.

Steelers have to beat the 49ers on opening day. 49ers, in my humble opinion, have the best roster in the NFL. Mahomes and Chiefs are great, but 49ers are stacked. Plus Chiefs have the bullseye on them.

I don't see the logic here. It is a non-conference game against a great opponent. Why is that a must-win?

    1. Kenny Pickett. He has to be No. 1. They aren't getting better unless he takes a step forward. They need to know sooner rather than later if he is their long-term answer at quarterback.
    2. T.J. Watt. The last two seasons demonstrated what a big difference he makes.
    3. George Pickens - He also needs to take a step forward.
    4. Najee Harris - We saw what he can do for the offense in the second half of last season.
    5. Joey Porter, Jr. - If he can become a quality starter on the outside, many of the other secondary pieces fall into place.
    6. Minkah Fitzpatrick - Don't take his greatness for granted. He makes that secondary work.
    7. Matt Canada - He needs to find a way to make the pieces fit and produce on offense.
    8. Cole Holcomb - The last few free agent attempts at inside linebacker failed. They desperately need him to succeed.
    9. Patrick Peterson - Whatever the role, he has to help cover for the loss of Sutton.
    10. Mike Tomlin - There are so many new pieces that have to fit together. That starts with the head coach.

I left Broderick Jones off because I'm not sure he will get the shot to have an impact early. I hope so, but it's no sure thing.

If the list is question marks, I would do it differently, but that wasn't the question.

For team moral. I actually think We will. Even though some people down Tomlins coaching abilities....He usually kicks off the season pretty dang good, and against top opponents. Although if We lose it won't be the end of the world.

I'm still bitter about the opening day loss in 1993 to the 40 whiners. This should be a statement game for Kenny Pickett and the Steelers. Prove they have arrived, post-Roethelisber era.

Plus, we are on the quest for 7. 49ers have 5 and they are major threat. Steelers should reclaim the title of Lord of the Rings. Damn the Patriots. Sucks that they tied us.

    Hell yeah!

It's off-season. We gotta talk about something.

I fart in the general direction of Patriots, 49ers, Chiefs, Ravens, Browns and Bengals.

    To hell with them!!!

Cowboys are no threat, so I'm not worried about them as long as Jerry Jones is running the show.

Cowboys get a real General Manager like Colbert and Khan....then I would be concerned.

Steelers are blessed with a good coach, GM and owners. As much as I complain about Tomlin and Cowher before him.... overall it's been a job well done over the years. There's always hope. Things could be worse....the Browns.

Agreed that KP and TJ should be at the top of the list.

after that the OL as a whole.
After that PP, his success will set the tone for the DB’s and allow JP Jr to ease into his role
Followed by the ILB’s and Boz

Canada and Tomlin are not going to change, they are what they are. Can the players make up for Canadas limited playcalling?
