Very sad! I loved listening to him talk about Pittsburgh sports. I used to watch Sportsbeat all the time and was disappointed when it ended. RIP!

RIP, Stan was one of a kind, he will be missed.

Between listening to games with Tunch and post games with Stan … it feels like there is a huge void.

Before Youtube there was that giant dish in the back yard I could maneuver to watch Sportsbeat from Pittsburgh in Colorado. Damn, that was a long time ago. Good times.

It's crushing tbh. It's almost as if my uncle died even though I never physically met the guy. I grew up to him calling Pens games and doing SportsBeat to doing segments on WDVE to doing sports segments on WTAE. I definitely shed some tears tonight. Dude was on my TV and radio as long as I can remember. Pittsburgh suffered a significant loss tonight.

Left Pittsburgh in the 80's. Whenever I traveled back home and stayed at my moms house I would always tune into him for updates on the latest Pittsburgh sports. He will be missed. RIP Stan.

I'm about 400 miles east of Burgh. Right at sea level. If our weather was overcast and I parked in this businesses parking lot I could get the Pirate game broadcast. . Not great but it worked. I assume their camera's picked me up and they started wondering why that car was in their lot at night and a cop pulled in to check. He was amazed by it and got a good laugh.

Was browsing for an award Stan was given some years back, Sam Nover was the host. His speech there was excellent, but i find this..then last show of his beloved Sportsbeat just as fitting. He was for many of us link to our 'Burgh, but more than that you felt he was your friend keeping you abreast of all things happening back home. RIP Stan, thank you.

Absolutely loved this guy..Loved Sportsbeat ..Was pissed when they fired guy . . When the show was cancelled in 09 ' it was like losing a family member...Out of towner that watched every night for his great insight. They just don't make them like that anymore.. Honest journalism, yet not afraid to ruffle feathers...You will be missed Stan!! RIP

This is definitely a bummer. Stan WAS Pittsburgh sports. Never lacked integrity and had a wonderful sense of humor. RIP Stan. You WILL be missed. I have no idea who steps in. Mighty big shoes to fill.

I enjoyed listening to that in the ride home from the games

They were knowledgeable insightful and unbiased

It was a great show each game right up until they opened the phone lines and let the idiots call in and talk
