Just like Weidl has added players to strengthen certain positions, they have quietly added coaches to do the same. Weidl has had a huge effect on this teams off season. I truly believe they made a plan and they have gone and filled in to not replace one for another but added to the sum of all parts.

each player added can play his role but also make other players be able to do what their strengths are. Same with the coaches. I don't think it's a one guy has to do it all formula. They are implementing the strengths for players and coaches to improve the sum of the whole product.

Just like the front office has changed how they do things, so do we fans have to quit thinking of the old way and look deeper at each move that has been made. Quite a transformation has taken place here and I for one can't wait to see it in action this year. Omar and Weidl have made a huge difference. Believe that.

If they really were going all in on strengthening this team they would have fired Canada immediately following last season.

Weidl deserves a lot of credit, but remember it was Kahn who brought Weidl in. Being a leader isn't about being "the guy", it's about bringing in the right guys and being willing to listen to them, ask them for their advice.

I don't think he did. They were hired at the same time. I Believe the owner and probably Colbert were instrumental in his hire. Omar may have been involved in a small way but not the guy that brought Weidl back. As I said though, the sum of all parts. One makes the other better to benefit the team.

He has one year left on his contract, It is uncommon that any coach or player has been fired/let go if still under contract. This is Art II. The exception to the rule for the last few seasons has been the ILBer position for good reason.

They brought in Glenn Thomas as an offensive assistant coach. We shall see if Canada is retained after this season. If the offense takes a step forward he might be brought back unless they think that behind the screens Thomas is here to take over in 2024.

Honestly, the defense worries me much more than the offense. The back 6 will have up to 5 new starters. Things can go very south and very fast if they don't develop chemistry. The pieces are there to be great. They just need time to become a great unit.

Tomlin supposedly being a defensive specialist and former DB coach on a legendary Super Bowl championship defense better show it’s worth. Not sure how any of us will be able to see due to closed practices, but it would go a long way to shut my mouth and most of Steelers Nation in believing in him like we should.

But are you rethinking your Pirates prediction? What's your new Pirates prediction? Do you think they will finish ahead of the Cardinals?

It is very brave of Lamar to transition during the season like that, especially with a new offense and all. He may want to call Caitlin Jenner for advice and support.

As Mac Daddyo stated above they finished the season strong with a 7-2 record however I do believe that Canada was demoted somewhat in his play calling duties. He is now given a second chance for some reason and the only thing I can come up with is MT trying to save face for the initial hire which is proving to be a not very wise decision.

I still believe Canada should have been fired long ago.

Have you read that he was demoted in that regard? Where?? Who took over the play calls???

    News to me.

But yeah, I would have loved for them to go after the best possible coaching option for this teams desired approach who ever that could have been, but I have no idea who that could or should have been.

Yeah, I do remember the dialog and comments about it, but after that nothing. I don’t think they really had a better option available. This year they seem to have brought in a possible option, but only they can say it would be better. This is still one of two ginormous projected X-factors in this offenses progress along with KFP’s bump to a next level larger or smaller.

Hoping it’s all positively exciting to the good column.

Find it hard to even say that. The Cardinals have been a solid organization for like ever. I predicted 72 for the black and gold guys. I'm far from convinced we can keep this pace up. Right now I'm real confident it won't be another 100 loss season and maybe just maybe finish over .500. I laugh when a few people who know me said maybe this series with TB is a preview of the WS.:lolol::lolol::lolol::lolol:
