I gotta say I know nothing about the guy.

Is he good? Worth it (whatever “it” will be in a trade)? Does he fit what we need other than vet status?

Was he on the Super Bowl squad?

    I think it’s a good move. He’s a high-ceiling fit No. 3 behind Johnson and Pickens.

He has had some monster seasons in the NFL, but he did very little the last two seasons. If they give up more than a seventh-rounder, I'll be disappointed. It looks like he is coming with a significant cap hit, which makes me think this is a bad idea.

Rams already said they would pay part of his salary in any trade.

    I'm guessing it's a 6th or 7th rounder for him.

I don't think the Steelers have a sixth-rounder. That said, I'm not sure how that works with the cap. He is due to make $15.2 million guaranteed in 2023. I don't care how much they actually pay him, but the Steelers can't afford that sort of cap hit for a guy who is a serious long shot.

As a Penn State homer I love Allen Robinson, his best seasons were in Chicago, and he put up some nice numbers without a Superior QB playing

He mostly played with Trubisky, but his career year was 2015 with Blake Bortles throwing him the ball.

You’ve got to think about his impact on Pickett. He really opens up the field for Johnson and Pickens because he’ll likely take off slot duties. It’s going to make Kenny’s life a whole lot easier and he may no longer be elite but he’s still very solid.

Yeah he has not played with a ton of great QBs

He's pretty great at contested balls he goes up and gets them, he's not blazing speed, but more than adequate.

Depending on what we had to trade, and with the Rams eating a bunch of his salary for this year, might not be a terrible move.

You got Pickens and Johnson but beyond that its a unproven Cal Austin III
This is good depth and another weapon for the Steelers.

Why would you pay an old, slow, washed up WR 10 million? ( Rams already paid 5 )

There goes the rest of the cap +

They would probably have to restructure Watt, to get him...

I've loved the moves so far this off-season...Not this one!

Rams have already paid nearly $6m of that and will probably agree to take more of a hit to get him off the books

I’m all for signing a WR but not sure this is the way I’d have gone, agree that he is a long shot, but he should be a very good Redzone target if nothing else. The Steelers were painful to watch in the Redzone at times last year.

Our GM is a wizard with cap numbers, so I don't think we'll be paying him anywhere near that 15.2mill.

We have multiple 7th rounders, so one of those is likely being included.

sounds like he is due 10 mil and the steelers will pay part of that.

I'm ehhh on this trade. I'll wait and see what his cap hit will be vs what we're giving up vs this guy actually staying healthy. I do like the veteran presence he'll provide in the WR room and offense as a whole.

Meh. Depends what they gave up and what they’re paying him.

I’m still hoping Austin takes the #3 job, but I guess this gives the team some insurance in case he’s rusty after a year off.

What seems to be a reliable vet with a good catch radius.
If they get him for a 7th, that's not bad, then maybe renegotiate his contract to his role.
I was looking at Free Agency to see if they could find one, they need a vet.

    Wait-n-see I guess.
