You would think every fan of the Steelers would.....We only have one starting CB on the freaking whole team...., and He's a old man, but hey....let's draft a bunch of positions We already have starters at.
Hell let's draft 4 more Wrs, and the rest on QBs.

I’m all about it for Darnell Washington at 32.

Good call on both of them but until you reminded me (is) of them I agreed with the other persons statement going all the way back to Rocky Blier best I could remember.

Get rid of Mitch and sign another free agent CB then draft a TE at #49.

Get a backup QB wherever with the lint in their pocket. Kenny should lean on a QB coach as a mentor and if we need a backup in a game use anyone who can handle a snap, has wheels, and toss it 5 yards on screens.

A mock I just saw had Washington to Steelers at 49. Or they could use one of the plethora of guards as an inline blocker with Pat and Conner

Another offset for CB is $4M by cutting Witherspoon. I guess someone needs to play the slot

    I brought Him up already.
Gay, and Foote are the last two I could think about.

The bengals are in dire need of a te. My bet is If the Steelers want Washington they’ll have to take him at 17 or 32.

I know he was talking about players leaving via FA and then returning...but my first thought was James Harrison..he came back better than when he left lol.

I love Heyward. That kid won me over with his play last year. He’s not a TE…he’s a FOOTBALL PLAYER. Hines Ward was a FOOTBALL PLAYER. I love FOOTBALL PLAYERS!

I doubt Washington would last until #49, he might go in the first round.

I want a TE (and not a depth lineman) who can block like a huge athletic Washington AND catch so the defense doesn’t know his roll in a particular play. Throw Pat in the slot.

I’m going to drive this board crazy harping about this over and over until it comes to fruition on the 2nd day of the draft or I’m very disappointed.

No way Washington lasts to #49 with his pedigree, measurables, and combine workout. If not us some other lucky team will nab him and I certainly hope we don’t have to face him in our division 2-3 times a year for the near future.

He’s a matchup nightmare and I bet he’s like Antonio Gates.

There are a few solid TEs in this draft who are more proven than DW.

This is true and they will go before him, but those guys don’t seem to have his measurables and combine type athleticism. Not sure how teams are projecting Washington’s ceiling vs. theirs.

But I looked at Washington’s measurables vs. our monster Eric Green TE who we took at 21 in the 1st round in the early 90’s and except for 20lbs of weight, and Washington measures out much better and with his frame he could still add weight.

If we draft him, he’s like a 6th O-lineman and could really help a new rookie top LT while he finds his footing in the pros and then slowly transition to a receiving nightmare along with Friermuth to give fits to opposing Defenses in the middle of the field and REDZONE!

I agree. I have not watched much of the other TEs, but I did watch a handful of Georgia games the past 2 seasons and watched some games since the season focusing just on DW. He’s not a finished product, and as such there is risk, but his potential is very high. He has to be further developed and has to be used to create favorable matchups or he could end up providing far less than 1st round value. I can absolutely envision a plan for him. Can Canada?

Gentry is a good backup and spot starter. I would definitely be in favor of signing him since he has gotten no interest in free agency. I agree with you

it's not a big mystery that we need one. muth is good but he aint no heath miller as a blocker and heyward is good catching passes and running but he's not that type of TE. gentry is so average at everything he does, why would you oppose them adding another weapon for our struggling scoring offense? you may say washington is only ranked as a 3-4 rounder but i guarantee he goes much earlier then that. i wouldn't want to play him twice a year or more. most every team in the playoffs had a good TE or two. it's quite an important position. we have an opening. they want to run more two TE sets. washington isn't the only TE out there either.

I doubt they will add a tight end in the draft if they re-sign Gentry, but they may be trying to upgrade there. The tight end group is very strong in this draft, so that could create some value if they take one at 32 or 49.

James Harrison played well in his third stint, but was a malcontent his fourth stint.
