Otherwise we've wasted early round picks on WRs and TEs.

 

Steelers paid $18 million for 844 yards and 0 touchdowns. Could of got that production from Juju for 3 million a year.

 

You have a point but Pickens 1 on 1 and he is open, the OC and the QB need to accept that and design a Offense that gets him 1 on 1.. Day 1 of OTA'S start working the Streak the back shoulder and the Fade route from a inside position ... All of these he can catch at a high rate against any 1 on 1 coverage..Design the route tree that forces that 1 on 1 and continue to work those same routes each and every day of practice..

Once they get fairly good at that then you add the running play that fits those and start using PA ..The reason I like doing it that way is the connection is already there , but now the timing is different ...Then you take those plays to the 10 yard line and work them in the 10 and in game , this should help us be much more effective in the redzone..

 

DJ is a good player, but him and Kenny don’t jive on the field for whatever reason.

 

Actually Johnson has 4 points scored this season. He caught a 2 point conversion against the Patriots earlier in the year. I know big deal but I just wanted to be accurate.

 

The 0 TD thing is just an anomaly for a challenging offensive season. It wouldn't surprise me if he went for 1000 yards and 10 TD's next year. As KFP gets better, he will be better at identifying who will be open and reads, etc. Him and Pickens skill sets complement each other well and I am excited to have both for next season.

DJ's main issues seem mental. The kid can get open like no one else, and when he's locked in he's deadly. However, he seems to have his bad games snowball. Drops or missed route reads seem to happen multiple times in short spans and then not again for a while. Its odd. He's developed into a nice player. Just needs to get his mental game right and gain a bit more consistency.

 

That's bc DJ is athletically similar to AB (and really is just a poor man's AB). Ben seemed to always have a connection with the little guy who could get open. Pickett can get there. I don't doubt that the 8 to 18 connection will look better next season.
