Good riddance, I doubt they would bring him back next season.

Adios, they were trying to Jimmy rig him into a #1 CB, something he isn't.

I wonder how much had to do with that bum hamstring. Those are tough to come back from quickly if they don't heal right and get aggravated again.

Witherspoon showed flashes but he’s just not consistent enough. Glad Leal is back. He was starting to show out when he got hurt. I look forward to seeing what he can do.

Sayonara. They already have too many Akhello Witherspoon's. Trying to find something with all these mediocre, back-up DB's.

He was hurt when they traded for him and it appears he is out for the season. Another shrewd Steelers signing.

Man you’re critical of a lot of decisions the Steelers make. The Jackson trade was for a conditional pick which the Steelers do not have to give up now.
This was a low risk, possible high reward trade.

I actually don’t mind this move. It is low risk in terms of draft capital. Let him get healthy and see what he can do in training camp. We all know CB is a weakness that needs addressed. I like options.

Maybe you haven't look closely enough of how he is in flames when he is defending. He is a below average cover. Hence my Burnt Toast post above. He is not worth 4 mill and change. He is part of the corner problem.

jackson has been a corner problem everywhere he has been as well. trading one problem for another is not a good formula but probably what will happen. i hope they work on keeping the ones that have played pretty well. maulet, pierre, kazee, sutton, wallace and maybe add an early round draft pick or a free agent.

Actually, Jackson does well in Man coverage. He plays well into what the Steelers do.
In Washington, (where I was) they once again signed a high dollar FA that doesn't fit the schema. (round peg, meet square hole)
So, I'm not saying he's 'what we've been looking for' but since he looks to be a free trade, he's not bad as someone to bring to camp.

Witherspoon cap hit 2023- $5,482,500- Cut savings $4,000,000
WJIII cap hit 2023- $12,500,000- cut savings $12,500,000.

Jackson get $2,750,000 just for being on the roster on June 1. Witherspoon gets $0.

Unless Jackson is in the building every day showing serious signs of improvement, I doubt he's on the team on May 31st.
