He gets my game ball. Great coverage. He had two bogus pass interference calls. He played a great game in place of Ike. Pros to Allen!!!!

I have always liked him....I actually thought he would be the starter opposite Ike this season. I didnt see a significant drop off from Ike to Allen yesterday to be honest.

Allen has really great athleticism and potential. His technique needs a little refining though. But he did do really well last night.

To me the biggest mistake he may have made yesterday was losing contain on Rice's long TD run. He bit too far inside. Brown played pretty well yesterday as well.

I can tell you guys one thing. no only was I excited how the whole team played (except for a few weird plays we all know about) but I am relieved and really excited at what I saw in the window of our future of our CB's. I never thought Lewis would be playing as rock-solid as he has for a good stretch now and Cortez Allen filled in for Taylor in a way I didn't think he had in him against our toughest rivals with good receivers and being attacked.

Great job boys, hope there is more to come....!!!

he will get payed. you can't let one of the best corners we have had in years just walk. he's got upside we haven't seen yet. this is his first year starting. why give that away?

they have to be careful of robbing from the defense and giving to the offense or visa versa. foote alone free's up 3 mil. on defense to pay lewis. mundy and will allen also free up some money. plus we free up 9.5 mil of dead money next year. we have to keep this bunch intact. this is the best db group we have had in years.

He made a couple nice play early, but they kept picking on him. He was in postion a couple times to get a pick. Won't suprise me if he gets a couple INT's filling in for Taylor.

Ike struggled a bit to start the season, but he has been pretty much a lock down corner the last 7 weeks or so. Allen came in and did a great job. to me he has some big shoes to fill. i know Ike takes a lot of heat around here, but he always takes the best wr from the other team and i cant remember to many times that that wr would have big games. aside from last years playoff game.

if Lewis and Allen keep developing we could finally have a great secondary. they just need to learn to catch.

Foote does not free up a dime , he is a FA in 2013 , as it stands right now we have just 35 guys under contract in 2013 and are 15 million over the cap ... Larry foote is not one of those 35

i'm saying this year. he is a 3 million dollar defensive player as we sit. i don't think we sign him for that next year. if at all. it's still a position we have to fill, but not at 3 mil towards the cap.

we still should get 9 mil off of the dead money list next year. who made the most difference in that game last night? troy or harrison? you can bet there will be some tough decisions to make. we may also see alot more younger guys on this team. we can't keep extending these top guys. it will catch up soon. after one good year they are not going to break the bank for lewis.

until the cap is addressed to the point that they actually have money to spend they can not offer anything to anyone .... 35 men on the roster 18 short of a filled roster for 2013 some tough decisions lay ahead ....

Lewis is a must sign IMO and should be a top the list moving forward but I do not expect to see an offer of anything more than 5 years 30 million with about half guaranteed and 5 of it by way of bonus money they just can not afford it ....

depending on how Lewis and Cortez Allen play while Ike is out may have a large part in the decision .. if they do not miss a beat Ike could be considered expendable based on age and cost ... I do not like it but it may be a reality

i'd say 3 mil - 3.6 max a year for him will be a fair offer. he is a #2 cb. we have alot of money tied up at safety. if we draft a top guy in the first that's even more. same at LB.

no need to draft a CB if we resign Lewis he is better than any rookie will be in 2013 and we have Allen as well ... early draft picks need to be spent at ILB and Safety , Foote may be gone and nobody on the roster is a capable replacement even if he stays he is 33 .... all 3 of our top Safeties are on the wrong side of 30 ..... those are the spots we need to address early not CB wher ewe have youth in Lewis, Cortez Allen and Brown , with potentially Van Dyke in the mix .... Victorian is also a candidate

you have missed my point again. safety draft pick a top safety draft pick. we already have most of our money tied up now at safety and LB. if we draft one of each of those in the first or second round we are adding cost to those positions. high cost plus dead money. i think we have plenty of young talent at cb even without ike. lewis would have to be signed and vandyke though to make this happen. i also don't put alot of stock in will allen to remain healthy. he hasen't throughout his career. i don't think he will be dependable enough.

The only way you can use the words great and C. Allen in the same sentence is if you are describing his potential. He did NOT had a great game. He gave up a crucial TD. He was outplayed and committed pass-interference which put them in FG range which they did get. He also had a dropped int which is a missed opportunity. Thing is his play wasn't much off that of Ike's and he's still learning. He will be a better CB than anyone we have on the roster in a couple years. Ike's career here may be in jeoprady.

i wouldnt write Ike of just yet. a lot of us did that already this year and hes been pretty much a shut down corner lately. the thing that has always kept Ike from being a pro bowler is his total lack of being able to catch. we have seen that from Lewis and Allen. their corners for some reason just cant catch.

im not sure i would be comfortable with Allen and Lewis as #1 & #2 without Ike.

i know that they need to cut some money from somewhere and maybe guys like Ike, Mendy and Harrison are guys that get shown the door, but unlike the rb and lb positions im not as comfortable with the depth at corner.
