If espn is right, the Steelers get the second pick in draft. We have rest of season to see if Kenny p is answer or not. We should draft CJ or Bryce y anyway and trade them for a ton of picks and maybe some established players.
It sucks watching us lose but drafting up in the 20s for almost two decades depletes roster. Having second pick could equal three starters to five starters if we trade the high pick.

Oh for fux sake. Let's become the Lions with this garbage. Pickett didn't even start his first game. Giving up on a QB after 13 games without putting a team around him is retarded... let's trade George Pickens and draft Jordan Addison... even better, let's trade Watt and draft that edge rusher from Alabama...

My god people are defensive around here. Nobody said to give up on Pickett. The statement was we should draft a QB high either way, which does make sense. Obviously that assumes a QB is the best player at that spot, but it makes perfect sense to load up on QB's and then stick with whoever ends up being the best. Nothing to do with giving up on Pickett. If Pickett pans out and CJ looks like he'll be a good QB too, teams will pay a lot for him. If CJ doesn't pan out, then so be it. if Pickett doesn't pan out, then CJ is there to take over.

Just hypothetical, but there's definitely an argument to loading up on QB's and sticking with the best one. Arizona did it and it's a good thing they did. Rosen wasn't the answer. Washington did it and it's good they did as Robert Griffen fizzled out.

If you could get 2 firsts or more for our first trading could be the wise move

    Depending on who is available

Assuming we are the #2 pick. Doubt it. The value of the pick itself is far greater than drafting Shroud or Young and using them as trade bait OP. The pick itself represents some 4-5 players and every team that covets them. So picking one of them as trade bait and limiting the pool of suitors would be silly.

Should we draft the QB for sure over every other position just because the names Shroud or Young might be there.. again.. I'm skeptical. Put me in the "Dont knee jerk so hard" group.

    Trade it back.

    Get more picks.

This team needs a backups rebuild.

I agree. What the Steelers need can best be picked up with more picks in round 2 and 3. With better o line and linebackers this team would look much better.

Steelers will NEVER get a top 5 pick, I might even say never a top 10 pick.

If the Steelers do wind up with a top-3 pick they’ll almost certainly trade back and wind up with some nice extra picks. They could use them. Really they could draft almost any position right now except RB, TE and likely QB.

If they have the second overall pick (they won’t) they should trade back for more picks. This team has a lot of holes and no depth. A couple of additional high picks would be very useful.

If KP completely sucks the rest of the way maybe you could make a case for taking another QB but let’s hope that’s not the case

This is a terrible football team. From the idiot owner on down. Pray, if they actually get a top 2 pick, they do the right thing.

I don't understand most of the original post

Drafting late depletes the roster v yet are best 2 players on defense Cam and Watt were drafted 31 and 30

Then drafting in the 20sv is had n so let's trade the #2 overall pick for some later picks maybe something in the 20s?

I said drafting late hurts roster and getting a high pick might help us solve some major roster issues and maybe we trade second pick for someone desperate for Bryce young or CJ stroud who will give a ton of picks. Plus second round pick and third would be possible solid players drafting that high. Sometime have to go back to take step forward
