New Steelers record under Tomlin

No one would argue Tomlin is the coach and nothing said will change that. The fact that this team has been ineffective and down right ugly under his leadership as mentioned above is a fact and should be pointed out until he is gone.

 

The last time we were really competitive was 2010. The win vs Cinci in 2015 was a gift. We had no business winning that game.
I guess in 2016 we beat Ryan Tannehill and Alex Smith, only to then get destroyed by the Patriots.

Since 2010, we've lost to Tim Tebow, Blake Bortles and Baker Mayfield. We basically lost to AJ McCarron too, until Cinci gave us that game in the last minute.

I get it. It's negative around here a lot. But come on, look at the talent we've had over the years, and we can't beat a bunch of garbage QB's. We find very impressive ways of losing it seems.

It's been 12 years without any real playoff success. At what point is that on Tomlin? It blows my mind that people still think he's a good coach. Don't you need good results to be a good coach? Who the hell cares about a .500 record in the regular season when it's nothing but failure in the playoffs.

How often? Daily? 4-5 different threads a day just to spout your opinion on how bad you think he is? The only one's opinion of Tomlin that matters is ownership.

 

The lack of success is probably mostly on Tomlin but, as you pointed out, it's been 12 years. He's still got the job and the same people are wanking about him. For TWELVE years. Obviously, wanking about him on a message board does no good.

I think you’ll find out that a lot of people here have the same opinion as you when it comes to Tomlin. I think you’ll also find out that people get tired of hearing it over and over.

 

I think there are quite a few people on this board that are through with coach T,
it doesn't matter what we feel. The Rooney's are loyal and have much patience with their
head coaches. MT will leave on his terms. Maybe the Rooney's will upgrade their metrics
for coach T and if he doesn't reach their goals he will lose a couple million from his salary
or in year 2 if metrics aren't met????

 

I get it I just use my power of choice on what and how much.

Point is, not everyone agrees even if you do jeh. That's the beauty of a forum like this. If everyone agreed with everyone else, this would be a very boring place. AND, we have freedom of choice to scroll past things we don't like or disagree with and aren't required to respond. I'm not trying to preach, hell maybe I am. But when someone (who isn't a mod and doesn't set the rules) runs around telling people what they can and can't post, it doesn't sit well with me. Guess I should follow my own advice and scroll on past something I don't like. Deuces.

I don’t know that I ever said someone could or couldn’t post anything. I’m pretty sure all I’ve ever said is that I think it’s either silly or dumb to continue to post the same crap over and over.

 

If the point is still relevant, repeating it isn't a bad thing. I understand the complaint about starting multiple threads each week to make the same point. It isn't necessary. A running "Fire Mike Tomlin" thread could cover it. That said, really, you can just scroll past every thread the guy starts if you don't want to read it.

 

Fair enough Glenn. And I've got zero problem with your opinions (even though I do enjoy busting your balls, lol). All I'm saying is that there are other people here with different opinions. I'm not going to try to speak for anyone else on this forum. So, for myself, I'm ok with people continuing to point out Tomlin's failures that seem to go unaddressed by the owners.

 

So ....Tom Brady, and Belicheat have lost the following playoffs games to....Jake Plummer, Mark Sanchez, Tannehill, and a SB against Nick Foles. So does Belichick suck???

 

You're forgetting all their wins. You play enough games and you're going to lose some. It happens. But we haven't had any real success since 2010. The Pats have won 3 SB's since that time.

Forget going point for point. I'm not looking to bicker. I just can't understand why Tomlin is so highly respected. So then maybe you can just explain why he's such a good coach, despite very little playoff success, especially as the team got further and further away from the culture of the previous coach.

 

Well one is We don't play in the AFC East. What real team Did they have to face. People can laugh about the Browns, and Bengals in this division, but since 2000. ....this Division has represented the SB.....what .....6 times with 3 different teams. Name a division that equals that.....So it's not easy as some pretend it is. I'm saying He's as good as other coaches. Give Me Your top coaches today that haven't lost ???
Hell people say Andy Reid....23 freaking years, and He has one SB.
No coach can You give Me that is all that outside of Belichick, and He had , cheating scandals, a way easy Division, and Tom Brady. All I'm saying is Most of the Tomlin haters(not all) compare , or are looking for some mythical beast(coach) that is not even out there.
I heard millions talk about S. Mc Vay being all that.....LoL.....they have traded every 1st round pick for years,and bought every free agent they could.....yet barely won one SB, and don't look like they will be back anytime soon. You would think with all that they should be awesome....it's hard.
