Don’t know if anybody was paying attention to this play at all on the last Pats drivve but the play clock was clearly at 0 before the ball was snapped and Jones on this play completed a pass for 11 yards before his 2 yard scramble on 3rd down and 2 when it was a clear miss and should have been delay of game and 2nd and 18. The announcers never even mentioned it and I was just wondering if anybody else caught this play at all. It was a huge non call that nobody brought up at all and it could have given the Steelers the ball back. Had nothing to do overall with the Steelers losing but it was a clear miss and another bad game by the refs overall today.

I notice it happens multiple times a game in every game and the announcer always says the ref looks up at the playclock and then back to see if its snapped. With the technology no clue why its not automated. They really get an extra 1/4 to 1 second extra depending on a given ref.

So how it works is when the clock hits zero the ref then looks to see if the ball has been snapped. So the offense ends up getting maybe an extra second. Been that way forever.

i blame that ****ty offense they are attempting to run. I thought everyone said it was ben last year cause he couldn't move.

Maybe my eyes are another year older, but I swear there are A LOT of O Linemen who move slightly before the snap and it isn't called. I've seen that happen before, but this year it seems very commonplace.

I think the refs look at the player then look to see if the ball is snapped just like delay of game calls. They did catch one LT for the Pats move and flagged him I believe.

I thought that’s what it was. Might have been wrong?

The Patriots did it a lot today, including the most blatant one I've ever seen that wasn't called. The officials finally threw a flag on the fifth or sixth offense.

Good explanation of a flawed process.
Why not have a play clock buzzer like every other sport with a clock...

It was awful today. I think it was Oher from the Ravens who was notorious for jumping back early and getting away with it against Harrison.

Don't want to blame the zebras for our loss, but on our last drive of the game Najee blatantly had his face mask yanked? Who knows what we could have done with an extra 15 yards

Throw two passes for 3 yards and an incompletion?

Yep. He got up screaming at the refs but, as usual, they missed it.

Pretty sure it's just because everyone hates the steelers and there is a conspiracy to make them lose to the pats.

I said the same thing during the game. That one was on zero for a good full second. Refs blew that one.

It is more a matter of the officials letting way too much go and the Patriots did a better job taking advantage of their incompetence.
