That doesn't seem any different from what those two were reporting last night.

Tomlin just spoke with the media. There are tweets like this one all over. Mike Giardi is an NFL Insider.

Last I heard, a second opinion on the injury was not done yet. Hope we get confirmation and Watt misses only a month or so.

according to dk all the reports about his potential return and 2nd/3rd opinions are bs. At the time of DK’s statements watt didn’t even know. With regards to the 2nd and 3rd opinions they’re actually more tests that were being performed today. Again that’s according to Dejan K.

Also apparently 2nd opinions were part of the new nflpa bargaining. I'm encouraged he'll be back. I think if his season was over we'd know that by now. Not that it could still not be over, but based upon what happened at this point the team is in the best position it could be.

We are all waiting with bated breath for the results of the tests performed today. From tomlin’s presser today watt has already been ruled out for the this weekend. With that being said I wouldn’t be surprised if he don’t hear an official announcement until next week

At the very least, things seem more positive than they were on Sunday… It doesn’t sound like he will be going on IR, but I think that needs to be announced by the end of the week, if he was? I feel like I read that somewhere.

I knew the Steelers were much worse without Watt last season, but I didn't realize they were 0-4-1 in games he either missed or left early. He was also playing hurt in their other three losses. That's not to say they would have won all those games with a healthy Watt, but it does illustrate just how big of an impact his absence could have on the team. He is the best defensive player in the game. To think missing him won't cost them games is just ridiculous.

I do believe that the rest of the defense is better this year. The line is much better with the return of Alualu and the addition of Ogunjobi. Jack is a big upgrade over anybody who played inside linebacker for them. Reed isn't better than Ingram, but he is better than the backups they used once Ingram was gone. Bush even looks better.

That still isn't enough to fully compensate for the loss of one of the 10 best players in the NFL, regardless of position.

I mean, recency bias is a thing. Yes, Tomlin is just below Harbaugh's 16th place (average) for his career, but since 2017 he is 5 for 24 which has him at 20%... which your research shows is good enough to be mere tenths of a percent away from last. He's gone three of the last five years without winning a single challenge (11 total attempts in those years). Its bad.

The NFL and NFL media have destroyed the continuity business in the NFL. It is difficult for coaches to have any consistency unless the timing is right and their QB is on a smaller deal. The pressure is also ridiculous to win at every little thing.

Players are the blame too. They have a representative I'm their union and they usually wilt under the pressure like a skank at a strip club because of money and the owners and media know this.

Mike Tomlin's issue is really one thing in all the years I've watched him. And that's not having his team prepared more then they should. I get if they look like garbage a couple times a year but his teams usually had 4 or 5 duds and usually to inferior teams. It has cost the Steelers #1 seeds and playoff spots.

Other than that, he checks all the boxes. But that is a big one when it comes to coaching.

Yeah, way too many losses to back ups and inferior teams (he has done this quite a bit in the playoffs as well with Denver in 2012 and then against the Jags and Browns at home the last two playoff appearances). It seems as if it is a preparedness issue in this regard. Flat when big favorites. But to say that his performance in challenges of late isn't concerning is wrong IMO. I understand that you aren't going to be great at everything, as even the best coaches have deficiencies. However, it is something as a coach that you can get graded on, and when you grade out that poorly it is concerning. Am I glad that its challenges and not something else? Yeah. Is it relatively minor? Yeah. But it still is pretty frustrating when you see the red flag go out and you just know that we are gonna lose the challenge 80% of the time.

Now you want to play the victim? You basically went around and argued with anyone who said let’s wait and see exactly what Watts injury is before jumping to conclusions. All along you kept stating that he was out for the season.
You acted like an ass. Be a man and take your lumps.

So then the question becomes what record in the next 4 to 6 weeks signals they have a chance at a playoff run vs no chance and tell Watt to rehab for next year? I want him back playing but if their record is 1-6 1-7 or something the odds aren't in his favor.
