Beat me to it with this. Though I'm still trying to figure out why @jeh1856@jeh1856 is hanging out in the background.

Hopefully this is not as bad as feared, but TJ is almost certainly going to miss some games. The depth does not convince whatsoever. Reed was signed to be a rotational / situational rusher rather than a starter, run defence was already a concern and it is going to be considerably weakened if they put Reed in full time. I wonder if they sign somebody like Pierre Paul depending on Watts diagnosis.

I see some hacks on Twitter saying that Najee may have the dreaded high ankle sprain, not good if confirmed, but we have to wait and see.

These injuries have spoiled an otherwise wonderful and entertaining win for me. Doesn’t feel like a usual victory Monday

We could have lost and still got the injuries I guess.

    This.
Some people are acting like we traded some injuries for the win.

It crossed mind to make a thread with a poll asking "Would you rather have had the win or the injuries??" but I was waiting to see the severity of the injuries first. If they are out for like the next 6-7 games...and that includes Cole too, I would think it would be a no brainer to take the injuries, but if it's for the rest of the season I think everybody would take the loss.

I would have rather lost if it meant we didn't lose Najee, Highsmith and TJ. Hopefully all are rather minor and maybe they just miss a couple of games overall.

On a side note. I'm starting to jump on the start Kenny Pickett bandwagon. Trubisky didn't look very good out there.

If it was a choice sure I’d take the loss to avoid the injuries. It doesn’t work that way though.

I was hoping Canada would treat Trubisky like he was a rookie...like if Pickett was starting, by doing some rollouts or having WRs run routes where they would have some easy pass lanes that were impossible to mess up. I'm going to go and see if I can find out how Chicago used Mitchell when he first started...see if I can find some highlights from his best season.

I say sit all the starters every game. Sure we will lose but at least the starters won't get injured

At least sit the 10 highest paid guys to protect them from injuries.

Are any of you actually listening to yourself? Yes injuries suck, but it's part of the game. Myself I think part of the rise in injuries is the lack of contact in training camp.. you know to protect them

Not sure about these specific injuries. As soon as i saw naj tackled the way he was i knew hed be hurt. He got rolled up and bent in a way the body doesnt bend. Tjs to me seemed like a no contact injury or at least it wasnt major contact like Naj.

I think the injuries can be attributed to everyone being bigger, faster, stronger. Ligaments can only handle so much.

I didn't see anybody suggesting yesterday's injuries could have been prevented by protecting guys better. Maybe I missed that.

I do think yesterday's game was a great example of what happens when you don't hit enough in camp. The Bengals didn't hit outside of their preseason games and the offensive line certainly looked like it in pass protection.

Bingo. I said the same thing with Ben playing last year. Most of us didn't really know what Ben was really still capable of because he was constantly under pressure with defenders getting to him quickly. Different quarterback behind the line with similar problems doesn't change things much, except for younger legs being able to escape better.

I hope they get this fixed soon, but it's been a problem for awhile. Just glad the D was so epic yesterday to help overcome this.

Sadly had the offense been able to pick up one 1st down at the end, the Steelers could of probably ran the clock out, and Watt wouldn't of been back out there.

Terrible job by the offense and the play calling even more worse in that situation.
Run the stupid thing 3 times... for all I care.

Hitting on a couple downfield shots would help immensely. Until defenses have to fear the long ball they’ll crowd the line of scrimmage

Not sure about this but I don't remember so many injuries in the 60's or even the 70's. Kind of odd, all these injuries with I would assume much better protective gear.

Protective gear doesn't do anything to help most of the injuries that happened yesterday. Sometimes, it can add to the risk of injuries. For example, better helmets can lead to players being more likely to lead with their heads.

Pitchers could also routinely pitch complete games on a few days rest all season long and never blow out their arms. Nolan Ryan pitched 27 years before his arm finally gave out. Some say modern day pitching mechanics are to blame, but i think a lot of it has to do with modern day athletes overtraining and being enhanced with so many supplements (legal and illegal), that it results in them being so finely tuned their bodies can't always keep up. like a highly tuned sports car, it's going to perform well, but break down often.

been like this for Steelers defense for a while. Lot of talent but one major player goes down it all falls apart. When you have all the pieces there it allows TJ to wreck havoc, if not him then someone else. My opinion he will be done for the year even if they say he can return. Why? because it's going to be one of those lingering injuries just my opinion.

This season was a see what you got season for me. I wanted Watt to get another DPOY lol. We need an O line plain and simple. Not doing anything until we build one up.

Agree that it’s going to take a while to heal, and the way he has to play, one arm won’t protect him.

Even a severe chest pull makes doing one push-up almost impossible.
But definitely leave the light on for him and the front door key under the mat.

OK. I will ask. Why does post = part?

And doesn't the Pit-Cin game disprove your theory as Cin had no-contact during camp. And Pit did.

Post = part because my smart phone is stupid

And no. I don't think it does prove that... They did have injuries and they took at least a half of football to even start to look like an NFL team.

I'm a firm believer in you play like you practice.. if you practice soft then you are soft.
