So they cut Avery and Leglue and traded nothing for Reid and Davis. Aren’t Reid and Davis basically Avery and Leglue under other names? Were there contract reasons for it? I can’t imagine this is much of a performance upgrade, although of course the coaches see a lot more of them than we do. If anyone knows why this was done, please explain.

Exactly. Steelers usually like familiarity. So giving up picks for basically the same players makes 0 sense. If anything looks like desperation.

They saw those guys at practice everyday, Tampa Bay just cut Avery too, who cares they gave up some late round picks to add depth.

Going from Haeg or LeGlue to Davis is a head scratcher for me as well. However Reid is a decent upgrade as a pass rusher over Avery IMO. I’m cool with that move, especially for the price.

I wouldn't be surprised if they made another move for the OL.

Reed is an upgrade over Avery and every other non starting OLB on the roster atleast on paper and in the stat column… we shall see what he does here I imagine

I sure as hell hope they do. But is it going to mean anything if Meyer ruins another one? WTF happened to Daniels? He was solid and on the rise in Chicago, and now he can’t play? Something is wrong besides our O line talent.

Davis for a conditional 2025 7th round pick? What is the downside here? If he doesn't start they give up nothing, if he becomes the starting RT they lose a 7th round pick in 3 years.

I would expect to see Leglue back on the practice squad. It is Haeg who is the odd man out.

We lack good coaches and it starts at the top. DB coach and hasn’t been able to draft and develop one solid DB his whole tenure. We had to make trades for our best DBs.

coaching outside of Munch has been suspect under T’s tenure with the exception of lebeau whom the game was passing by rather he had the horses or not

Reid is a good player. Broncos had a deep LB core. So yes he's an upgrade.

Haley as OC they could score once they got going, the defense sucked though back then.

Sure, but he had set the bar pretty low. I actually think he’ll be fine at some point, but will it be in time to be a big help in making a playoff push?

While I'm sure it was more than a week ever know.... in my mind it's a Madden trade.... they cut a 64 overall and traded for a 68

Probably an upgrade but not really noticeable

Not in 2017, they were the 2nd seed in the AFC, if the refs make the correct call on Jesse James TD they're the #1 seed.

Yup Kazzee is going IR designated to return and at least one more. Sad top see the Davis twins fail out though. Rader came along nicely, but with D Watt as a FB and C Heyward being designated a TE...odd man out.

He may swing around to the PS, but if someone is light on a Blocking TE, he's getting picked up.

They have been able to sneak Rader through to the practice squad before. He is a good blocker and special teamer, but not much of a receiver, so it's not a terrible risk. They seem to think Heyward can be something more useful in time.

Man I thought you guys were joking. Bucs really did cut Avery. I guess they don't know what they're doing either then...

Dude has got to be real low right now.

I'm not sure about Davis, but anybody who doesn't think Reed is an upgrade over Avery doesn't know what they are talking about.

Me neither if one is available. Just more wr's on our roster then they normally keep plus MR.
