Ok, not literally, but in a perfect world, the Reindeer will play the best ball of his life the next two weeks or so, and simultaneously a team with excess inside linebackers will lose a QB, and the Stillers will flip him.

Of course, I also dream of winning the Powerball………

I wouldn't say Mason is definitely demoted. Pickett practicing with the 2nd team probably means he will be playing 2nd in the Jacksonville game. They probably want to see what he can do with better players around/against him.

Likely. Kind of mixed on the rumor..which is just that lol. When they traded Dobbs we saw what happened. But hard to turn down a 3rd (doubtful) which would likely be a top 70 pick..or even a 4th which would essentially be like a 3rd comp pick. Have to consider that value.

I think the Lions would at least offer a 4th round pick for Rudolph. Look at the Lions 2 backups Tim Boyle and David Blough. Rudolph would be a major improvement over those 2.

Why would you trade away the best QB on the roster. If Mason is playing "the best ball of his life the next two weeks" why would trade away your best QB?

Or, are you also assuming that both Mitch and Picket are also playing the best in their life as well?

I didn't have a winner or a loser in the QB dept after the 1st preseason game. Still too early to tell for me as to who should be the opening game starter.

Well, Rudolph has been around long enough that we know who and what he is. I think that if he will play above his real level for a short time, that is the time to flip him. Trubisky is a short term solution, Pickett hopefully the long term.
I suppose there are way worse problems than to have three quarterbacks who make it hard to decide…..

The best ball of Rudolph's life isn't necessarily very good.

It is 10 games spread over four seasons.

Also, compare the resumes. I'm not just talking about compiled statistics. Even when you go with percentages, Trubisky's resume is much better than Rudolph's. It isn't close.

They would be lucky to get a 6th round pick for Mason.

    2 reasons.

First, Trubiskys tape is better. The only think Rudolph does better is throw a good deep ball.
Second: The hope is Trubisky was just in a bad situation in Chicago.

But as Knox likes to say, hope in one hand and and **** in the other and see which one fills up first.

It’s a long shot but one thing I do know is he is better than Rudolph.

Jimmy garoppolo has yet to be traded. Mason is a pipe dream trade. And honestly I rather have him on the sideline screaming in trubisky ear what to be looking for. He has shown he really does know the play book.

We would have to add a Steeler 4th to Rudolph to get the Lions 4th.

If Mason is traded the compensation will be minimal I expect, a fifth or maybe a conditional fourth depending on games played or whatever. He is a backup going in to a contract year and really isn’t worth a great deal IMO.

If he is not getting a helmet on game day I would imagine that he will want out, understandably, and a trade might be best all around. I could also understand if the team dig in and keep him. That painful offence in 2019 when they had to play third string QB Duck Hodges will still be fresh in the memory of the coaching staff. I know Mason was also poor that year but he has improved enough since then to make him worth keeping at his modest salary IMO. Injuries happen and it’s not like the offensive line can be depended upon to keep the starters clean.

There’s enough uncertainty about what we’ll get week in and week out with Trubisky to make me want to keep Rudolph as a backup. However, I would definitely trade him for a capable ILB as the OP is hoping for. Also if by chance a team likes him enough to part with a 3rd round pick I take that in a heartbeat. Neither are realistic scenarios, but stranger things have happened.

You lost me when you said Rudolph was the best QB on the team. Go ahead and just facepalm yourself for that comment.

OK. Your one of those HATERS that even though everyone is saying Mason is the best in camp, and even though Mason's Camp stats clearly show him dominating Mitch, you will bury your head as far deep in the sand as you can.

    What you lookin at?
