If Mason continues to look good but Pickett turns out to look better, perhaps then there is a possible trade for Mason in the future?! Remember that teams are always looking for capable back ups. Now I know that Jimmy G is simply the better prize but someone like Mason is not a bad runner up.... assuming he can continue to showcase his talents of course. Bear in mind that the Los Angeles Rams have no current fixed time table for Matthew Stafford's injury at present.

Perhaps the Rams and Sean McVay are willing to place some offers to Pittsburgh?! Heck, Les Snead and Stan Kroenke both have all but admitted to the public that they could not care less about draft capital. In addition, given their 2021 conclusion, all Mason would have to do is merely hold off until Stafford returns. That team is still loaded for a repeat. Mason can perform well enough for that to happen.

    Agreed.

That said, very seldom do NFL Rookies come in as ready as advertised with very little or even nothing to work on. Quenton Nelson is my personal prime and best example of such a rarity; Joey Bosa being a close second. Since watching the game in 2008, no other Rookie NFL Player has impressed me the way that Nelson did. For that matter, I personally will be hard pressed to be that impressed for a while yet.

well we might finally have an offense to average over 30 points.
Too bad our defense will give up over 40.

That guy I saw tonight is not a guy that is going to be happy riding the pine this year. He’s fighting for a starting job and if he keeps this up, he dang well might find one. It’s only one pre-season game, but he brings an “it” factor and energy a lot of other quarterbacks lack. The offense seems to respond to that as well. This is FUN!

    Very fun.

Tonight's game felt like a regular season game

Rudolph really does through a nice deep ball. He made a few other throws, too, but he also forced two or three passes into coverage. At least one of them should have been intercepted. He also missed open receivers a couple of times. In other words, it was typical Rudolph.

Pickett didn't really throw much down the field, but overall, it was hard not to like what we saw for the kid's first pro game. He really had no chance on the fourth-and-one and he had maybe one bad throw. For those who haven't really seen him much, this was a good look at his toughness and athleticism, which you aren't always going to see with the numbers. Trubisky and Pickett both showed that their biggest advantage over Rudolph is that they are just much more mobile.

Agree. Rudolph has always struggled when it comes to pocket awareness. A quarterback who lacks mobility can still be successful as long as they know how to navigate effectively in the pocket, just look at guys like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Dan Marino. Rudolph lacks this skill and the more you watch him play the more you realize that. He does throw a beautiful deep ball though.

So we just need to bring in Rudolph on 3rd and 1s, aka Big Ben throwing deep.

He was surrounded by family and friends, they came out a few seconds after this pic.

That definitely showed on his fumble. Of course, Moore did a poor job there, but Rudolph could have stepped up and thrown the ball.

That was nice to see, but aside from that one play and Myles Jack, the inside linebackers were not good.

#45 (Buddy Johnson??) particularly stuck out. I believe he was in the picture in every Seahawks offensive score. Spillane I've never liked...he's just a pure liability in pass coverage.

Dan Moore got his ass handed to him on that play. Rudolph was smart enough to get the ball back on the strip.

And for Mason's next series why was #64 Scott playing RT instead of Haeg?

I was really looking forward to Mason going deep to Austin tonight. Maybe next week we will see these two hook up for some deep bombs.

Moore did a bad job. Rudolph did well to get the ball back, but he once again showed his lack of pocket presence on the fumble.

Both Johnson and Spillane failed miserably tonight. I think all the Spillane hype was something Tomlin/Flores made up to motivate Bush.

Fell in love with Jaylen Warren last night. Hope it goes well for him.

Master Teague should be a rapper with that name.

All 3 QBs played pretty well even though it’s a meaningless preseason game full of non NFL players. I still think it’s clear Mitch will be the week 1 starter the number 2 QB is really up for grabs. If Pickett shows enough these next two games I wonder if we don’t try and trade Mason?

The day after the draft NFL.com listed their top 10 free agent signings. Warren was listed as the 9th best free agent signing in the league.
